I apologize if this has been mentioned before, but I found this (among several of the same) video showing Buzz (Tempas from Morph) and Woody in their early stages. This is the best video I could find.

Wonderful find! I saw some sketches of old Woody and B̶u̶z̶z̶ Tempas in a preview of The Art of Toy Story 3, but it’s super cool to see an early animation.
Old Woody was so cruel.

Man, im glad they didnt use that dream scene The old woody seems alot more… evil then the new one. glad they went back and changed him.
Interesting how that dream sequence resembles the one they later used in Toy Story 2. [spoil]But with less hands, more roaches.[/spoil]
And yes, old Woody was kind of a jerk, wasn’t he? Old Buzz, on the other hand, was a bit more buffoonish. 
Guys, I think we can tone back on the spoiler tags, this stuff is old and doesn’t reveal important plot elements. I didn’t like the way that Andy looked, I’m glad they changed him. Anyways, in a video I posted a while back, it even showed the original Buzz Lightyear video intro that they used as well. It’s also been mentioned that they were originally going to use the yard sale idea in this movie, but no storyboards have been shown to my knowledge.
That Woody was really freaky…
Im just glad they made Buzz and Woody the way they are now.
I could have not loved those charicters when i would have been a kid.

And Poor buzz, I think that scean would have replaced the sceane with buzz getting pushed off the window!.
Oh yeah, Andy was kind of two dimensional as a character, but then its a dream sequence. Remember how in the actual dream sequence, Andy suddenly becomes very zombie like, “I don’t want to play with you anymore”, so I can understand how this Andy seems a bit forced.
I rather like Andy with glasses- reminds me of myself at that age.
The cockroaches scene reminds me of something in Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker, fast-rewind.com/moonwalker.htm where the villain abducts a child and the child’s teddy bear is left behind, covered in cockroaches. -Omar
Woody was a jerk in the beginning?
Yep, that was some pretty cool, interesting stuff on the DVD. I kind of think now that the reason Buzz’s suit was red and he was so small was because his character was originally going to be Tinny from Tin Toy (the earliest version of Toy Story would have been like a feature film version of Tin Toy). And Woody being a ventriloquist’s dummy is clearly where his name came from.

Look at the color of the Buzz Lightyear suit in the commercial. It’s the same as Tempas from Morph.

And you are right!. That is the red version of buzz which was the start of desiging Buzz
