Nothing gets me more hyped up than hearing the original voice cast in all their glory.
It also seems like Pricklepants broke the 4th wall (reminds me of Shakespeare). It’s also interesting that Buzz and Jessie are in a group, as opposed to Buzz and Woody.
I’m not sure that counts as breaking the wall, part of his persona is that he always thinks he’s acting for something, no matter where he is or what he’s doing. Its close though, might be a toss up.
They’re probably gonna poke fun at the two different varieties of G.I. Joe. There was actually pieces of a smaller Combat Carl used in Toy Story, but it probably wasn’t an intentional homage.
ginacartoon, those posters are so awesome, words can’t adequately describe it. I love the look of old scary movie posters, and when you mix in Toy Story, it’s a really really good thing. Anyway, off I go to watch TS3 again before tomorrow!
I loved it and I thought it was hilaruous! It sucked cause my sister came in and the entire time she kept saying “Wow this is so retarded, I can’t believe you’re in High School and you’re watching this” But that didn’t ruin it for me. Loved it! 8/10
Toy Story of Terror is sooooo awesome! I was grinning like an idiot the whole time. It’s amazing that after all these years, Pixar still finds a way to further character development.
And Mr. Pricklepant (wink wink) was one of the 2 stars of the TV special! He was so funny the whole time!
New toys? Hmmm obvious Combat Carl had a lot of screen time, but I’m actually fascinated with the lego bunny
Here’s my review, I’ll be cautious with spoilers: it was amazing, just amazing. The beginning was classic Toy Story humor. It may have had some of that “made for TV” feel, but it gets surprisingly engaging. The cast here is an interesting mix; Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Potato Head, Rex, Trixie, and Prinklepants are the gang that’s brought around for this outing. They all work great together; especially Rex the scaredy cat. It has a great mystery aspect to it, and the result is rather surprising. [spoil]It’s actually solved rather quickly, the movie suddenly shifts to another prison escape, except under much different circumstances than Toy Story 3.[/spoil]
I love the details and references to the main films. I always think it’s really cool to see Buzz’s glow in the dark paint. [spoil]Also, Jessie’s tragic past in storage is also a major point, as is Woody and Jessie’s collectible status.[/spoil] On top of that, there’s more subtle references interlaced in the movie (just compare to some scenes in Sid’s room). The new characters also work really well, the best of the bunch being Combat Carl. [spoil]His military speeches and third person dialogue make him an instant Toy Story classic. By the end, you’re in for one last twist as the gang almost becomes left behind. Jessie is actually the real star of this story, and it works great. The epilogue gets really out of hand, but is arguably one of the funniest parts.[/spoil]
Overall, entertaining from beginning to end; made great use of the short runtime. Left more of an impression than the Toy Story Toons, I hope there’s a future in Toy Story TV specials and shorts.
[spoil]P.S. Anyone think that it was Al who bought Woody and Jessie?[/spoil]
