Well in all fairness there are stuffed bears that talk when you press them, and we don’t know for certain if Lotso is one like that or not. I don’t mind a talking feature on Lotso cause it’s more suitable for him than it is for Potato Head.
I’m not sure anything would look good printed directly from those shots. maybe if you had HD shots from the blu ray, but even then, it might not be clear enough.
I think you’d be better off using that as a starting point and usse something like Illustrator to recreate it so everything is as sharp and readable as possible.
The only print off I intended was the etch screen, everytthing else was for reference. You would be suprised Kyle, at what folks can do from screencaps, I’ve personally seen folks make all kinds of replicas from caps worse than that. (paper replicas, badges, newspapers, etc, same as a box)
If he had a voicebox, we would’ve heard it by now. He’s just stuffed in the film, sorry though.
" Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear is a jumbo, extra-soft teddy bear with a pink and white plush body and a velvet…y purple nose. This lovable bear stands fuzzy heads and shoulders above other teddy bears because he smells like sweet strawberries! With a smile that will light up your child’s face and a belly just asking to be hugged, Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear is sure to become a bedtime necessity. Stain-resistant. Spot clean plush surface with a damp cloth."
The only reason I mind getting one that is accurate is to A not feel like a dipshit for spending $50 on a pink teddy bear, and B keep costs down on my end Otherwise I would be all for pressing the talking feature once or twice… (as I’m sure other collectors like myself dont play with them, but might think a gimmick is fun) I’m just after replicas…
Maybe I just thought it was a possibility in the film since all the clips we’ve seen of him are while he’s alive, but I think you’re right that he’s just a regular stuffed bear. Now that you mention it, the TSC Lotso could be kinda hard on the inside and not very huggable. Some stuffed toys are like that if they’re electronic.
Edit: Never mind, his box says he is huggable so I guess his inner workings don’t take away from his plushness.
Flik-E-
I actually finished sculpting that snake for myself yesterday. And Lenny is the one from Toy Story and Beyond that others have shown before, the one without lenses in his eyes. I printed up some lens, laminated them, then glued them in.
Sherriff Woody Pride-
I’ll take some decent pictures in natural light tomorrow morning, and try to post them before I have to leave for work. I also have a Bo I have modified, a troll and some Toddle Tots I have repainted, and I took some of my old 1995-99 stuff like Mr. Mike, Wheezy, and Tour Guide Barbie out of the closet…and I will post pics of my whole setup for now.
Tyler-
Those are perfect, thank you.
And the etch overlay is awesome. I have had one stuck in my etch since 97 or 98, but it is a generic Etch-a-sketch drawing of Woody. After all these years I dont even remember where it came from. This wiould be MUCH better.
Beacuse of what my TRU told me about some products being put on shelves this sunday, Im going to guess that the sunnyside replica toys will also be released
Yeah, thanks for the overlay TylerHaslett! As an Etch-A-Sketch artist myself, I think I’d rather Etch A Sketch the thing. I’m also working on an sketch of the map to Al’s Toy Barn, as well as a sketch of the various evolutions of Al.
I think I know the answer to this already. How hard would it be to , say take a jessie doll and replace the head with another one? Could it be done? Any tips? I trust your take on things like this.
WOW. Awesome collection Wampar, that’s probably one of the most extensive Toy Story collections I’ve ever seen! That Snake looks so cool, where did you find it? Also Congrats on completing your Stinky Pete box, it’s dead on!
Any way you could arrange your outlay to look like this? That would really make it look movie realistic.
Pixar Builder- I sculpted the snake myself with green sculpey. I made one link, then made a mold with some mold putty I foun at the craft store and made ten more links. He is very heavy…a lot heavier than he should be. But while up close he looks like hell, when put with everything else I am pretty happy. The other stuff I closed up on are the other things I modified. I painted Bo and made her a new stiffer skirt with cut up two liter bottles and cloth, painted the bikini on my troll, added the eyes on Lenny since that one came with holes instead of lenses, and cut a hole between his feet to try and create the illusion that they aren’t one solid piece, and painted my toddle tots to be a little more film accurate.
Next up: I have had a Zurg sippy cup that is fairly in scale from the waist up since 99, so I just have to make the lower half of his body. Not going to be able to start that for a few weeks though…hopefully by then I will have the TSC Jessie and Bullseye. I do still have my ones from 99…but they would look weird in this mix because they are so off.
I LOVE your modifications and collection Wampar!!! They look AWESOME!!! The Troll looks kickass.
The Toddle Tots new accessories look badass! (Love the Kyle hat one)
The modified Bo Peep looks so much better! And you did a fantastic paint job on her, and everything else you painted.
Prospector box looks kick ass!
Really, really awesome lineup man, I am jealous as well! Awesome, AWesome.
That right there has got to be the dream collection for Toy Story fans. Makes me wish they still made those Little Tikes Toddle Tots like the ones you have there.
