Toy Story Replicas (No trading-related posts please)

Was the Toys R Us Jingle-Joe accurately scaled?

Nope. He’s actually more in-scale with the basic action figures. He’s only about 4 maybe 5 inches tall. Going from memory, so it may be wrong. But he is DEFINENTLY too small for the TSC guys. Pretty nice though, but he’s just small.

I don’t think

If you mean am I going to make them then no, I don’t really think I want them and they would very difficult to make, not worth the trouble I think, at least for now.

For anyone wanting to make Frog. he’s sorta easy

Step 1. Buy
cgi.ebay.com/Wind-Up-FROG-Tin-To … 2571wt_907

Step 2. find him some sort of wheels(can be painted)

Step 3. take out his legs, make him a clay leg for the front.

Step 4. move his winder to the top

Step 5. put the wheels in.

Hope that worked

he kinda beats around the bush lol

hehe yeah thanks

That’s a shame. I want to get replicas of Sid’s toys. Does anyone know of Erector sets? Metal ones?

I know of them, and that’s what Babyface is made of, but he’s got some special parts. I don’t know for sure if you’d have to order them or if retailers still carry them.

If the “why?” was directed at me, it’s because i’m a sucker for re-created scenes, particularly from the first movie. The troops heading out is such an Iconic scene to me, I can remember watching the movie many times over the years. If it wasn’t directed at me, nevermind… then…

Third one to the bottom of the left looks a lot like baby face’s.

It was a pretty primitive design. I’m not an erector set expert, but he just took a bunch of slabs of metal and screwed it together. The base of the body would be hard, but I’m pretty sure there’s some similar claw pieces out there. Look for lots on eBay.

OneEyedBart95: You’ll have to check garage sales and salvation army stores for them. Anywhere else, especially eBay will over price these $2 specials. I picked up one set from a neighbors yard sale for a quarter and found a second set at a resale shop for $5. I combined the two sets to have a complete set with minimal scratches.
However, if you have a disposable income here’s one new in the box:

As for Baby Face: Most of the mid-sized to large Pre-1980 sets will have 90% of the pieces needed to put his body together. The legs are just long pieces cut at the ends. The body appears standard as well. May have been one of the large rectangle pieces cut and bent into a box or one of the actual boxes that a few of the sets had.
The claws are two different items. The right one appears to be oval piece cut in half and then “teeth” were cut in too. I think its part of a side panel or motor cover. The left one I think is from one of the vehicle sets or swing. If I had to guess I would say swing.
One thing we have to remember, he didn’t actually move in toy mode. No gears or motors.

Snake&Robot: I’ve seen a few top wound frogs. If I come across them again, I’ll post the link. I love this guy. Before I got into collecting the set for my children I hadn’t thought about making him. However, now I will have to step it up a bit after I fix The Monkey.
