Toy Story Replicas (No trading-related posts please)

Apparently somebody wants money… cgi.ebay.com/Toy-Story-Original- … 27b7f554ba If anything should be worth 700… It should be something rare from the 1940s at least…

Just because someone is asking that price doesn’t mean it is worth it or that they will get that price. And although Mr. Mike is not worth that to me. He very well could be to someone else. Did you look at the completed auctions?? He has already unsuccessfully tried to sell it for $300 and $400 with free shipping. Not sure why he keeps raising the price, but hey what do I know my feedback is only a 3rd of his.

I do know that the Mr. Mike is hard to find and thus more valuable. I think that is the only movie accuarate size made. And with very few made in comparision to other characters the price is going to be higher.

I wouldn’t be ragging on that guy because of the price. There is a very large difference between boxed and unboxed collectibles. In this case, this 15 year-old item is brand new and factory sealed, and the price reflects this. Not many of these are left in the world (especially in this condition), since its rare enough on its own. Besides, he has the best offer feature, so you reall can’t complain.

And abaci, you’re pretty much correct. There’s an earlier model that Mr. Mike is based off of, but that’s rarer and has a different design in general.

As for in-scale, there’s two nearly identical models from the first Toy Story. The first one is the one in the auction; the voicer-changing tape recorder. This is the most accurate, since it’s a visual and functional replica (I used to have it when I was a kid, but I think my parents threw it out). The other is similar, although instead of the tape player, it has sound recordings of Woody on it. Still in scale, the only difference is the buttons, and I believe the eyebrows are slanted.

I was wondering what type of Sculpey should i get and what should I get with it such as finish or something like that. i’m planning on making something this weekend but I don’t know what. Also what paint do you suggest and where did you get it. Sorry if this is a bother but now I’m making my own replica’s. Please help if you could, i would appreciate it.

Just want to make it clear that I am not “ragging on the guy.” If he gets the money then good for him. I will say if its my own auction I would not relist it every time w/ a higher price. But thats just me.

I used Sculpey clay for the ne body parts, a driller for the new holes and some acrilic clay to cover the old holes. :stuck_out_tongue:

Whatever, but it’s his auction. You can question his tactics all you want, but I doubt it’ll do anything. Again, if you really want it, just send him your best offer (which best offer prices are normally a bit inflated to draw attention to the item).

I already have one… I was just looking at the toy story stuff for good deals I came upon that

Not sure who is stupider the guy selling or the guy that would pay that much. If a guy like that lists it several times for that price and it doesn’t sell , then he’s out money and IS stupid.listing fees and time taken.

Why would you pay that much for something that the market has proven is much less. if they sit on ebay like many I have seen , then they are way over priced. Maybe a couple hundred bucks. If your bide yout time you might find one cheaper or somewhere like a thrift store.

Being the first on your block with a new toy for bragging rights is something for rookies and people who have no clue what they are doing.

Id rather get 200.00 for an item than relist, relist , relist. Plus Toy Story is Hot…wait until no movie is out and the DVD’s have been out and you’ll have no problems. This seller is " trying" to take advantage of the craze . good idea if you know what your doing but this seller does not.

…and yes I am ragging the guy.

Just wanted to share a quick picture
pretty happy with my jolly chimp that i had only for $45, dosen’t work, but it just stands there for pleasure :')

that chimp is great emma…i want one for myself …don’t care if it works either.

Is that your auction?? or do you personally know the person?? kinda sounds like it. Not expecting it to do anything as I dont know the guy. (unless its you) I was just stating my opion on an auction someone brought to the attention of this board. (don’t even remember who) I am in no way interested in this item. I don’t have the desire, money, or room to collect all the toys that aren’t in the TSC. Also did you make him an offer? He can set the offer to automatically reject them if under a certain dollar amount, and I would be curious to know what that limit is.

As stated he is paying a few bucks each time he lists it, since he doesn’t have an ebay store. I don’t have a store but my understanding is listing is free but you pay like $15 a month.

Are you talking to Me or Dinoco?

No, I am not the seller. It would be creepy if I talked in 3rd person all the time, wouldn’t it?

Propologist, you make a point there, but what I really want to point out is that the item is a lot more rare than the average buyer would think.

not you

I don’t think anyone is disagreeing with it being rare. But being rare is only worth money if you find someone willing to pay the high price. Stuff is only worth what people are willing to pay

Lil pic of my peas in the pod  loving em ^^

I’m interested on a Barbie and Ken pack but with the “accurate” movie head model of Ken. Can someone find one for me and send it to spain? How much would it cost?
And how about Bullseye, Jessie and Yellow Barrel of monkeys?

Thanks!!

@Emma-in-Candyland I have those, are nice but too square… I like the Tomy ones.

@Mabril

You can find the acurate Barbie and Ken in Spain, actually the only pack aviable on toys r us… its an exclusive one.
