Toy Story Replicas (No trading-related posts please)

I got my vintage chatter telephone in today! He has the wood base, white and black phone cord and his original pull cord and box. The pull cord is tucked away in the photos just so ya know, but its there

I forget how long it’s been since I was last active here, but I might as well make an update on the collection I had started. Forgive me if I’ve mentioned this already, but I actually do have a new digital camera to replace my old one that’s now broken, though unfortunately I’ve been unable to use it yet because my computer’s USB won’t recognize any connection from it. For now I can only mention what toys I’ve added.

Etch A Sketch: Decided to grab any old one in the stores as long as it was red.

Barrel of Monkeys: Funny story about them. I was aware that the yellow barreled one from the movies don’t seem to be made anymore (the only ones my store ever gets are red, blue, and green) so I grabbed a blue one instead because the McDonald’s Toy Story 2 Happy Meal set from 1999 had a Barrel of Monkeys toy in a blue barrel. http://cgi.ebay.com/Barrel-Monkeys-14-Toy-Story-2-Mcdonald-Hpyml-Toy-/230531668646?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35acc21aa6 However I didn’t know if the current toys all came with red monkeys or not, so I bought it assuming they did and found out that they’re actually the same color as the barrel, and I eventually went back and bought the red one too so I could have the red monkeys. If I ever start getting items on eBay I plan to get the original yellow Barrel of Monkeys (and if they still make the yellow ones, feel free to correct me on that).

Troll: One day I went over to Goodwill to see what kinds of old stuff they had and I happened to find a few Troll dolls and picked out one with pink hair. It’s not the exact blue eyed one though. It’s one of the ones with the more darker purple-ish pink hair and brown eyes. It’s this one to be precise:

I also know about the instructions on the first page to recreate the fabric for the bikini, but I haven’t gotten a chance to do that yet. Some other things I found there were a Little Tikes piggy bank, which I bought because I read on Wikipedia once that Hamm was supposedly modeled after it (yes, I do know there’s no proof of that) and I wanted to do a comparison with my other toys. http://cgi.ebay.com/LITTLE-TIKES-Classic-Pink-Piggy-Bank-Girl-Coin-Complete-/140526404291?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20b806c2c3 Sure enough, it’s very oversized and doesn’t match the height of the Disney Store Hamm bank. I even found a talking Buzz Lightyear toy from Burger King that’s similar to the hand puppets they made, and he still works. Only thing I didn’t like was that they plastered the price sticker right over his face and it left sticky marks on his helmet.

Mr. Pricklepants: My latest addition. Found him in a Disney Store during a group outing at Mall of America (my first time being there). They didn’t have Buttercup, Dolly, Peas in a Pod, or the Hamm bank. The Trixie plush I always planned on skipping since it would not fit with TSC Rex anyway.

I’ve finally made a Flickr account so here it is: flickr.com/photos/61104471@N08/?saved=1

Thought it was about time to show my toy story collection, I am very proud of it and sorry for the cheesy background hahahahahah

Hi everyone! long time lurker, first time poster. I really like the site and wanted to share a few things…

My family and I have been collecting Toy Story toys technically since the first film. we still have the original Rex and Mr. Mic from my childhood displayed. we have mostly the newer line of toys, and have made some amazing thrifty finds, like a squeaking Wheezy for 25 cents (NO KIDDING!), but more on that later (I promise to show pics of our humble collection soon). I was wondering if someone could help me:

I want to print out a copy of Buzz Lightyear’s box, like the TSC/movie one. We got the Disney Store Buzz (only one I knew of that had the various features including Karate Chop. we’ve painted him Glow in the Dark, so now I feel he’s closest to the movie deal…)

I’d like to just take a few pages to Kinko’s and print an Exact replica probably on 11X17 inch cardstock. can someone scan the box, adjust the sizes to fit the 11X17, and share these pages with me? I would REALLY appreciate it.

Fun fact about printing stuff at Kinkos: if it says “tm” or “R” on it, they won’t allow printing (or at least they will give you a hard time about it…), soooo… be sure and remove those sorts of things, too? if you want to also remove the “Toy Story Collection” logo too, that would be fine. double points if you can get it to where I can print out the inner part, too.

Also, does anyone know where I can find a Toy Story Collection RC these days? we recently got the Disney Hamm Bank and are currently having the money that goes into him go toward RC…

Tbis wasnt the wheezy you got for less than a buck was it?:

Howdy gang. Quick small update on my Sunnyside toys. I wasn’t happy with the height or shape of the dog, so I resewed parts of him. The cat was the wrong color, and WAY too big so I made a new one. The Brontosaurus was too dark so I painted him a lighter color. And McQueen was a weird shape, so I made a new one.

I am pretty thrilled with the updated versions of all four, and am now ready to move on to the third and final Sunnyside wave.

Earlier there was some question about Tank, the triceratops from Dinosaur Train, and whether it could be modified into a reasonably sized substitute for Trixie. Found one at the Target last week. It is still too small. I took it back because it is no larger than the toy I already repainted. Guess after I am done with the Sunnyside collection I will need to sculpt a Trixie from scratch, unless Thinkway decides to surprise us with news of one in the coming weeks (but I am officially not holding my breath.)

No, ours is from Hasbro, 2004. mine looks a little smaller then the one linked.
