I went ahead and ordered them all because for 6 bucks a peace you can not go wrong and they are most accurate until we get wave 3 once that happens ill upgrade…
I bought one the snakes Emma is referring to about a year ago, and while the length sounds about right, when it got here I was shocked at how skinny it is. It is way too small. I knew that I had a larger one when I was a kid, one that looks exactly like the one Slink showed…so I knew they existed at some point. Just couldn’t find one in this day and age. I am so happy he did find one, now I know to start the search again.
yes he should buy a bunch of them for his dear toy story collectioners :')
The place I went only had one green one (several orange and blue ones), they were $1.99 listed, so I can buy all of them if they restock. Next time im in the area, I’ll check all the little shops.
if someone is making the snakes i will buy one or i think i seen slink say he might make another shark i would buy that too (=
Yea I would also be interested in a Shark! How much would one Shark be Slink?
It would depend, I have to order them online so shipping is greatly affected by the quantity. If I ordered like 4 to 6 at once, probably like $15 per shark (plus your choice of shipping)…covers the toy, the paint, the putty for the eyes, and a little bit for labor. I wouldnt expect them in a timely fashion though. I start an internship for the summer next week and this week is finals. Won’t have a ton of time outside of weekends. I wouldnt take money until I was ready to ship though, and I would take orders in first-come first serve. If people don’t have issues being patient, i can definitely give it a go.
Warning on the sharks: they would squeak, but squeaking them will mess up the paint job (it will crack at pressure points). I’ve learned this the hard way and had to repaint it. They are more display than a toy.
The snakes would largely depend on how many snakes (if any more) I can obtain. I saw them in ONE tiny shop in Chinatown in downtown chicago (and only saw one green one, several blue and orange). I could check other stores next time I’m there. The snakes are a much easier job. I just removed the googly eyes and replaced them on the top of the head (they were originally on the sides) Warning: there are small groves still where the eyes were, not noticeable if you view from right angle, but would irritate perfectionists. I also mod the head to make the snake go “vertical” rather than horizontal. I then use sticker paper with as good of a color match I could get from pics online. However, since they are easier, like $6 (plus shipping) would be sufficient. Once again, depends on if I can get anymore.
Side note: I’m aware some of you might want to modify the snake yourself, not a terribly difficult task, if thats the case let me know
I’m also working on the troikas still, which would be an even longer wait (and obviously more expensive), but if you can be patient, I can deliver some decent mods.
PM me if you have interest
Slink-
Which store in Chinatown did you find Snake in? I live in the area, and I might want to check it out.
Don’t remember the name…it was across the street and a little bit north of “the noodle” some vietamese restaurant where we ate
My latest purchase in a long while:
A film accurate 1989 Mattel The Farmer Says See 'N Say with correct yellow centre and red disc on the reverse. Still in fine working order, if a little play-worn, but then what would you expect from a 22 year old toy.
Watch this space for photos of my complete collection, arriving soon…
Nice find. Play wear only makes it more authentic.
Hi everyone, I attempted making the Tinker Toy label last night, wasn’t going for an exact replica just something along the same lines that looked ok in the background, didn’t come out too great but i thought Id post it here anyway, so if anyone wants to use it feel free. And if anyone thinks they could make some changes/additions to it to make it look better (wouldn’t be hard!) please do so and re-post. Cheers!

Has anyone heard of or seen this Buzz before his face looks a little more accurate then the collection version we all have…
it looks the same for me, except the box maybe xD
Another question is this Etch in scale with the Toy Story toys?
I believe so. The one used in Toy Story is from the 80s (as with most of Andy’s toys). Though, that design has pretty much been consistant with the current design. I’m not sure if they changed sizes throughout the years.
