Thanks for thanks advice Emma Iāll keep a watch on it!
Thatās why I believe Thinkway should release an accurate one now because if everyone is buying their old 95 toy, why wouldnāt they buy a new one that would probably be a cheaper price??? After all she was the leading lady in the first movie and if a new version of her was done properly and accurately then she should probably sell well ā¦ no???
Same reason Hamm was never madeā¦Hamm and Bo Peep didnāt sell in 1995, so they think they will not sell now. Plus Thinkway, until the release of the new wave 3, has tried to add electronics to everything, adding to the cost, and toy companies didnāt like the idea of a $50 electronic piggy bank.
And i honestly think future waves wonāt involve toys not in the shorts, just my opinion. So Stretch, Big Baby, etc fans should be rooting for a Sunnyside short, while Bonnieās toys fans should be rooting for another Bonnieās room short.
Fans like you should root for a nostalgia shortā¦maybe ones with Bo peep, rocky, and robotā¦etc
But I honestly think Thinkway might be done, 3 exclusive toys to UK? they will lose half of their fanbaseā¦if more expensive ones are UK only, and US fans will have to shell out almost $100 each, and you lose too many fans to continue the line.
I wonāt say anything about this xD but living in FRANCE, i had to buy everything from the USA, and at the end the shipping costs are truely expensive, almost all of my toys come from there because most of them have not been made here or have not been kept by the people.
It will maybe be realised in the UK and then appear in the USA, like most of the toys, to tell you the truth, the wave 2 has not been made in FRANCE because they have not made the french voices for them yet (it seems only one french jessie exists)
But still, I do hope sales are impressive enough to continue with more characters, Iām really wishing for a Zurg and Pete to appear - as well as Bo even though it is highly unlikely so Iām not setting my hopes on it - I just wish that they appear soon because my hopes will fade and Iāll end up making a replica and then a replica would be released. Thinkway is just giving me a headache because I donā't know what their next move is going to be.
There are exceptions to every rule, myself and others will order them from UK, but far more wonāt. Emma you are also the exception. And I agree that the USA only stuff should be overseas tooā¦maybe in smaller quantities, but stillā¦Also, why would voice be a problem for Bullseye in wave 2? lol
haha true xD, but they have not made any french boxes for them, that means they have not been made yet, and also, lotso canāt be find in french, only mr potato head and buzz lightyear had been made, I really donāt know why thoughā¦ they could finished the entire wave, but they didnāt !
Bouhouhou damn america, you got everything
What about us poor french people HUH XD, even if I believe to be the only french person to collect toy story toys really xD
I am hoping they do so good in the UK that they release them in the US if not I guess ill have to stick with the DS plush toys which look like crap if you compare them to the Thinkway versions.
The french movie got amazing voices for the toys I really love it
I really donāt care, because i can talk english, but I know french people who are really disappointed to not have a french version of the toys because they canāt understand englishā¦
And for them it looses the quality of what could be these toys because since 1995 we are used to have the same voices for each characters
I agree, it appear Thinkway seriously lacks a gameplan. The company only has Wall-E, Toy Story, and the new RC cars. How hard is it to come up with a gamplanā¦I mean, how many lines does Mattel sell?
Wave 1 and 2 were very close. First they said no wave 3, then maybe, then 2011, then 2012, then uk exclusive in 2011 with more future ones in 2012 (maybe). I mean, make up your mind. Consistency in the line builds a fanbase, and a following to the line. Even though the strategy would drive me nuts, I think even 1 character per Christmas season would be a good idea in a business sense. Collectors would not be overwhelmed (have to drop $300 a year) and look forward to a new character every year for as long as they wanted to do the line (or ran out of characters). Every Christmas, one character would be the hot item, while the natural Woody, Buzz, Jessie figures would maintain their high levels. Every Christmas there would be interest in the whole line, because of the ONE new character. It would keep profits up for years, with basically the same toys. It would still work with their current āwaveā format
I remember in my younger days, my mom and sister loved the āHoliday Barbiesā from mattel. When they went looking every christmas for that one doll, theyād usually end up buying other items for themselves, or for others, because it was christmas and it worked. Same kinda concept.
At this point, limited releases to any country is stupid, but especially the country where the movie was produced, filmed, directed, and most popular is downright disasterous.
I just feel they really lack direction, and make knee jerk reactions
Guys, your all thinking as collectors, put yourself in Thinkways shoes for a moment, us collectors are NOT Thinkways main priority and target audience, the children are. Kids dont care if Woodyās string isnt the correct lenght as it is in the movie or if Jessieās hair is too thick! They just genuinely love the toys for what they are, and thats what Thinkway has aimed to do. So I say good job to Thinkway. Look at it this way, how many of us use this thread or PixarPlanet in general ; not that many of us, and all we seem to do is try and out-do thinkways work or nit-pick. Now compare that to the millions of kids worldwide who just love the toys for what they are! Thinkway isnāt going to pick what we want over what makes the children happy, I sort of know that - fact! Maybe we should just stop slagging Thinkway off and just get on and deal with it. Just thank them for giving us what we have now, and if your a true collector you will pay a little extra for each item. It really just is the way the cookie crumbles! Thank you Thinkway!
Sorry to keep on going on about this but would anyone mind posting the picture thatās on the shade of the Bo lamp?? It would really help me out seeing that I have no clue how to use photo shop!!!
I agree that Thinkway should lean more towards the kids in mind, and not collectors. However, there are still a great deal of kids in the United States that like the TSC line. When you limit it to one country, youāre limiting collectors and kids.
Ironically enough, Iāve bought a lot of Toy Story characters for my niece and nephew (aged 5 and 3). They have all the main characters now, and do you know what they tell me when I ask them what they want for christmas?
Stinky Pete and Big Baby are conistently the two they ask forā¦but Zurg, and Bonnieās toys are also there. My mom and I were planning on getting them those three when we assumed weād release them to the USA.
Honestly, even though Iāve said I want certain charactersā¦in actuality, releasing ANY characters is a step in the right direction.
However, I do not get the logic of telling the fan base āno new toys before christmasā mere days before vivid and amazon list three characters. I did not ask if new characters would be released in the US, simply if theyād be released. This indicates they are either lying or have no idea what they are doing.
This may sound cynical (or optmistic depending on how you interpret it)ā¦but it wouldnāt surprise me if these toys are released to the USA. Jenny just said āno new toysāā¦but then when proof of the new toys comes to light on UK sitesā¦all of sudden they are UK exclusives. Maybe itās their way of hiding itā¦I really do not know. But so far, asking their customer service dept has seemed worthless, they either literally donāt know anything, or are lying.
I do understand that those of you in the UK are excitedā¦you didnāt get Hamm, and I hear you didnāt get TSC aliens, and youāre happy that you get your own exclusives. Thatās fine, but if I had my way, anyone who wanted the toy could get it, regardless of country. And long term, if a Toy company produces toy solely for children in the UK, profits wonāt be large enough to keep the line going.
Iām graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering in Decemberā¦by then Iāll be able to import all future TSC if I have toā¦thats not the issue, if I want the toy bad enough, Iāll find a way to get itā¦Iām more worried about other people not having access, which will mean the end of the lineā¦which means several characters without a real life replicaā¦
