Toy Story Replicas (No trading-related posts please)

I wouldnt know. But the fact is, if its a prototype in that picture, the site doesnt have access to that doll. Just like target had pictures of legless collection potato head on his sale page. Sometimes sites just dont update things once they change.

Judging by the JEssie , in different sort of replica packaging, I’m assuming that Woody does indeed exist.

Regarding Woody:

* Stands 16" tall
* Film accurate paint details and sculpt using original Pixar Digital Data Files
* Pull Ring in back
* All Materials match Actual Toy Story Woody
* Soft plastic hat, belt and holster
* Hard plastic Sheriff badge, shirt buttons, holster star & belt buckle
* Plastic boots with spurs

* Bonus child sized clip-on Sheriff Badge
* Includes stand to display Woody

It does not exist. This picture surfaced months ago. If the doll exists, dont you think SOMEBODY would have it or have seen it? If you doubt me, email the site, but I would bet money on it not existing.

Tyler the badge they mention is the stand. I order a lot from play and what you see ain’t always what you get.

The stand is also listed:

* Stands 16" tall
* Film accurate paint details and sculpt using original Pixar Digital Data Files
* Pull Ring in back
* All Materials match Actual Toy Story Woody
* Soft plastic hat, belt and holster
* Hard plastic Sheriff badge, shirt buttons, holster star & belt buckle
* Plastic boots with spurs
* Bonus child sized clip-on Sheriff Badge
* Includes stand to display Woody

I’ve emailed them to get a picture of the actual product, see we’ll see very soon I’m hoping. The no mention of the certificate, and the things like child badge make me get hope.

That proto was never made for sale, the included badge idea was nixed after the first pass. this info comes from a variety of sources, some from a response from Jenny Size in an email (that is in this thread somewhere but too burried for me to have any idea where to begin to look) as well as an inside source from the sideshow collectable forums. that site is just using a very early product description. probably just cant be bothered to update it.

nevermind, kyle wrote it

I’ve used this feature: play.com/Correction.aspx?mod … 3635187&r= to correct them

Oreo, saw the link, thank you for the clarification.

I also seen pictures of that Lotso too, I just dont know if I want to get him. The one thing I wanted him to do was stand up right, and I just figured no one did because his legs are floopy. But those pics show that his actual legs are too short to even stand. I just might make my own, but dont want to.

He cant stand on his own. However if you prop him up against a wall or something, he can stand. Thats how I have mine displayed

I know you cant stand him up on his own, he’s a plush. But the leg height when standing isnt there, which was my main concern. Him standing there with his Tinkertoy cane is something I want to see done as a replica. I cant believe the tsc one is so damn small, I figured because it was $50, and the fact the box looked larger, that it was correct scale. But like the bucket in the bucket of soldiers, lack of squeak on aliens, wings on buzz, proper stitching on woody (everywhere), these are just “Close enoughs”.

Couldn’t agree with you more Tyler. Of all the tsc collection Lotso is a major disapointment. I just hope Bullseye turns out as good as he looks in the pics. If I bother with a Lotso it will be the cheaper plush version.

The only reason Lotso is a “dissapointment” (I say that lightly, because I’m just nitpicking, on his own he is pretty cool, as see with others’ collections) is because he’s all plush. But thats how he’s supposed to be.

I would like to see a foam underbody, that gives him support and the proper girth he needs. Sort of like how muppet makers make their puppets, stretch fabric over forms. They use anton fleece, but similar lotso fabric could also be used.

I would rather they produced a larger version without all the tricks just so he was to scale. From what I can gather from those who have him is he doesn’t have a huge selection of sayings anyway. Mainly hug me here,there and everywhere.

The fact that he is a plush should have made easy for Thinkway to get the scale right. Yes, he does look good on his own but he is part of the collection.

Anyway this is the wrong thread for discussing tsc stuff, so sorry for going on.

I suggest at least handling this doll before judging it. He really isnt as small as people say when compared to the film. I mean, if you bought one and you decided you didnt like him, you can always return it.

That made my day…

Just saw one at TRU. He does indeed look bigger in person. I’m holding out for hte non-tsc one though. And if it doesnt stink of strawberries, I can use car freshner like I intended, which turns out to be the same sort of smell thinkway used. His voice is cool.

does anyone have the remote controlled baby face from disney store? He isnt really in scale but hes the closest we will get. Im thinking about getting him as he is only 10 bucks on clearance

Here’s a review for it:

I’ve heard all-around good things about that toy, I’d go for it (for $10, you don’t have much to lose anyways).
