Hey guys… I’m new to this website… I actually tried to register last week, but had trouble with it and forgot about it…
I had a Toy Story collection from about 8 years ago (with a Zurg, Woody, Buzz, RC, Jessie and Bullsey… oh and a second Buzz with a missing arm)
I recently restarted my collection with the Little Green Men (which were my favorite characters, but there was no toy for them :frowning: …) and I want to try and get back into collecting…

Tonight’s project: made a cane for Lotso. And I made a ghetto cardboard “flap” that is between his legs, and assists him in standing on his own.

how did you make the cane?

Looks awesome Wampar, is that an animal lovin ken?

Great looking cane, wampar!

On another note, the peas in a pod have been selling out super quick in my area. People love them. If you’re still looking, give your local store(s) a call to see if they have them. They should be able to hold them for you for about a day.

I knew a guy who tried to make a replica of the robot from the first movie (he had little success)… does anyone think they could make him. I’ll give it a shot, but I doubt I’ll get far…

oreo-94- I bought two dowel rods at the craft store. Cut them down, sanded the groove into smaller one, and attached them with hot glue. Then I painted a wash of red paint on the bottom portion, some areas a little thicker than others, and finally took sandpaper to the red paint after it dried to rough it up and give it a worn out look.

Tyler- yup. Its Animal Lovin’ Ken. I bought him on eBay a couple of months ago. I have never been a big believer in keeping toys in their cardboard prisons (I actually felt that way LONG before TS2 came out.) So I absolutely relished the moment I got to open him up…I just imagined the Barbie collector people gasping as the 2010 air mixed with the 1988 air that has been trapped in the box for 22 years.

TheLittleGreenMen- Welcome! There are a couple of us on here who have talked about making a Robot at one point or another. I decided pretty recently that I wish to have my collection feel complete by the end of summer…so that means I am going to have to tackle the Robot situation at some point…but I have put him low on my checklist because I just can’t quite decide how to approach him.

I am more than prepared to tackle the Robot, when the time comes.

RE: Ken, thats cool you opened it, I would have too.

Was he sealed with tape or anything? I think they look better outside as well.

Is he going to be electronic?

He will at least have lights. It will be quite the project. With alot of different materials, ie: urethane rubber for the treads, transluscent resins for the dome pieces, white urethane resin plastics for the bulk, etc.

I am looking forward to seeing the final result

Some guy on youtube recreated the first scene of the first movie. Some toys are different due to availability but hes got woody, hamm, potato head… the boxes and drawings. Anyway, i think its neat.

There’s a whole thread about this by the person who made it. Is the real Animal Lovin’ Ken any different than the TS3 one at the Disney Store?

The belt on the remake isn’t as good as the original.

Oh, thank you  I assume he’s more expensive, then… groans

Just came back from TRU, and they FINALLY have Chunk and Sparks in stock, but still no sign of Twitch or Bullseye.

But, they are running a really cool promotion through the end of today, where if you spend over $25 you get a free 17" x 27" 3D (lenticular) poster that basically recreates the huge backdrop of their in-store display.

This is one gorgeous poster.

Yes. Very different. The head sculpt is completely different (the new one looks like a fifteen year old who had Botox)…and the clothes are very wrong, especially the shorts.

Does anyone have a picture of Rocky Gibraltar from behind? I was thinking of maybe scuplting him but I need some referance photos.
