Toys you would've like to have seen in the movies

4 words: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

I remember seeing a Harry Potter, a Ron Weasley doll and a Hermione Granger doll years ago. So, I would have liked that the Toy Story characters would have meet some Harry Potter toys.
Maybe some Final Fantasy Play Arts Action Figures. Would have been fun Sephiroth saying “I’m going to rule the world with mother.” and Jessie responsing “What a mama’s boy.”

I wanted to see a My Little Pony.

…what, I used to collect them when I was about 8 years old…

Yes, I’m pretty sure Lotso is supposed to be an 80s toy as this fake ad for him shows youtube.com/watch?v=z6dZtNYGlLM Very 80s style toy Commercial.

I would love to have seen a Rubik’s Cube! Partly because I’m into speedcubing, and partly because it is like THE classic 80’s toy!

What, you didn’t notice the Rubik’s Cube in Toy Story 3 during the couple of seconds that it fell out of the Sunnyside donation box? I don’t blame you.

For this, I have to say that they’re trying to be realistic with Andy’s toys and such. Because, with the exception of Slinky and Woody, all of Andy’s toys were from the late 80’s and early 90’s.

Sunnyside toys range from 60’s to 80’s. Chatter Telephone, See 'n Say are the ones from the 60’s but everyone else is mainly from the 80’s; Lotso (Carebears), Twitch (Masters of the Universe), Stretch (Wack WallWalkers), Ken and Barbie. Actually, it’s kind of confusing how Molly would end up with an early 80’s Barbie, but they’ve made it clear that they might not be the exact same dolls in real life.

He-Man Figure, having he and Ken fighting for the love of Barbie, or something like that, as a miniture side story could of been nice i guess

Hey, anyone here remember the “My Buddy” doll? youtube.com/watch?v=4j2xEwEHbrE
Would’ve been funny if he was in the movies as this character who’s always hanging out with another character
Woody: Who’s that?
Random toy: Oh, that’s My Buddy. Where ever I go, he goes.

I actually have one of those. Picked it up at a garage sale a while back. That would have been really funny.
“And this is Chunk.” “Well, who’s that?” “Oh, he’s My Buddy.”
That would have been really neat. Not with Chunk though, he’s just the first name that came to mind.

Also I notice there’s a lot of Child’s Play references floating around here the last week, so here’s my contribution. My Buddy is actually the doll that Chucky’s appearance is based on. The creators say no, but one of the style’s (For those who don’t know the same doll came with about 4-6 different random altered clothes with different colored shirts, overalls and shoes) styles of the original My Buddy doll wore clothes literally exactly like Chucky’s outfit. Multi-colored striped shirt, blue overalls, red shoes. Don’t know why there’s been ref’s to Horror recently, but it’s kinda ironic lol.

Yeah, I mentioned that I thought it was funny how both Child’s Play and Toy Story, bot about dolls coming to life, both have a child named Andy.
And the cretors of Child’s play denied it? DUDE! It’s SO OBVIOUS! My sister was actually pretty scared of my My Buddy doll when that movie came out XD

Exactly. Don Mancini (Writer/Creator) when asked always said that he’s not based off of My Buddy and that it’s more based off of his hatred of the Cabbage Patch commercials. But A) Cabbage Patch Kids are stuffed minus the heads, B) The actual clothes and size are an obvious resemblance to My Buddy, the Good Guy dolls that Chucky became actually looks like the doll. C) the first Child’s Play came out only 3 years after the first My Buddy dolls were sold. May be they don’t want Hasbro to sue them, because Hasbro would do that and the result of the movie’s commercials caused many, many dolls to be exiled to closet corners, basements, or sibling’s bedrooms.

Trying to get back on topic, it’s also kind of ironic that we’ve been mentioning a horror flick, and Lee’s favorite movie is The Shining. Great movie, by the way. I also think that the Andy and Andy deal is just a coincidence. Oh, I just thought of one. I’d be really funny to see a Tickle Me style toy. Lee already said that they like to do toys that don’t already have a personality, but a Tickle Me toy of some sort (not Elmo, for that reason) would be funny. A character that’s supposed to be serious as a part of Lotso’s gang, that by design laughs. Maybe a clown… wait. Chuckles. Scratch that. But someone to say something along the lines of “Alright, Lotso says your goin’ to The Box… Heh ha ha ha… Er… Sorry.” Or maybe even a button activated one that would be a guard, and all they had to do is push a button and he’d be on the floor laughing and they’d be able to get past him.

I love the Tickle Me idea! That is so very clever. I can see it working well in the film, and adding many many laughs.

Wow wee robots?

Obviously this one, because it is the single coolest toy ever:

Edit: but what’s cooler than a catbus? Why, a kittenbus, of course:
