Trailer Music

Didn’t see anyone else bring

this up, so sorry if it is already known. The music they play when WALL-E is introduced is the theme music from

Terry Gilliam’s classic movie about a bleak overly bureaucratic and commercialized future, “Brazil.”

As if the homage of using the theme music wasn’t enough, they changed the percussion in the song to match the

background sound of the famous Ministry of Information scene with the sound of old electric typewriters,

something Terry used hundreds of in the film to create endless amounts of props with. Check out this scene from

the

movie…

This is

my first post to these forums, what a great site! I’m going to peek around…

Here’s my warm welcome to you, Queso

Grande . I love you’re name.

It really doesn’t surprise me that they used a

reference to Brazil because they did another one in Monsters,

Inc. I believe.

I also extend my welcome to you, sir. Please

make yourself home here at Pixar Planet, Queso Grande!

I also noticed the musical reference in the WALL-E teaser trailer, though

I did not know the title of the film it was taken from until now. I must say that it is an interesting choice of

backround music to choose for that particular trailer, but, for some reason, it seems to fit nicely.

Again, welcome to Pixar Planet!

Queso Grande: Realy? Wow, I had no idea

that the WALE trailer had a reference to it. Thanks for the information. Welcome to PP by the way.

Thanks and welcome!

That’s pretty much awesome, Queso Grande! Welcome to Pixar

Planet!!!

Thank you ! I was desperate to recall where I’d heard that music!
You saved my life! ;-o

By the way, the latest Bee Movie trailer

starts with the same music.

totoro

 • Heh – yeah, I noticed that. When I went to see the special preview screening of

Ratatouille last Saturday, they first showed the WALL-E

trailer…and then the new Bee Movie trailer. Of course, they each sported the same

backround music. It was bizarre to hear the same tune play twice. :stuck_out_tongue:

Really? NOw that is really

ironic. Is it not? You would expect two different companies would at least use different music. I mean, what are

the odd when there is practically like a trillion songs out there in the world? All I can say is

WOW!!!

clabot2700: Welcome to Pixar Planet by the way.

That is

kind of odd. You think they wouldn’t put them right before the same movie, so people wouldn’t notice so

quickly!

Interesting! I didnt realize that music came from something else. I liked that music (at least in the trailer they were showing with Ratatouille, that is the one we’re talking about, right?) It seemed pretty upbeat to me which was a little surprising because I guess I was expecting it to be more serious, based on what I’ve heard about it so far.

Written in 1939–and one of the most recorded songs of all time.

Queso Grande- Aah, so that’s where that music’s from! I’ve heard it in the trailer for the Bee Movie, but not for Wall-E as I haven’t seen that trailer yet, but when I do, I’ll remember the reference right away!

And welcome to Pixar Planet!

Now lets talk about the music at the beginning of the teaser when Andrew Stanton is talking. Is that brand new music made for the teaser? Or is the music from another Pixar film?

JV - I liked that particular piece of music, actually. It caught my attention at once. It sounds as if it was made specifically for the teaser trailer itself, but it could be integrated into the film in question. You never know…

I don’t know. Ususally, most teaser trailers I see, the music comes from something else.

I don’t know what the music was from, but it sure did provide the right atmosphere for those watercolors. Seriously, Pixar should sell those things - I’d be first in line! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not sure either. But then, I havent seen it awhile, so I dont really remember what that music sounded like.
