True Or False (The Real Version)

Aw nooo, that’s a false. He also pranks on a man (he holds up an elevator when the latter needs to use the loo) and kids (he steals their football and kicks it away) too.

BTW, I’m not sure if I should answer on IV’s behalf, but you got her question right. I watched the Season 3 finale.

I’ll say true? I’m not familiar with her, but I did like some of her movies like V For Vendetta.

In the movie A Good Day To Die Hard, the reason Bruce Willis’ character goes to Russia is to meet his son.

True, since he’s in prison and he needs help.

False. She was born in Israel.

Dr. Watson was considered to be somewhat of a ladies’ man

Ding ding ding! You win, SoA! Have you seen “Die Hard 5” yet?

Um, true? Not familiar with the Sherlock Holmes universe.

In the movie Iron Man 3, Don Cheadle’s character uses a suit called “War Machine”, a rebrand of the original name “Iron Patriot”.

On the contrary. Rhodes armour was named War Machine from Iron Man 2 (in the film, the name is only referenced, but it’s the name it had in the production). And in Iron Man 3, a second War Machine armour is repainted with the Captain America colours and renamed as Iron Patriot. In the comics, Rhodes was always War Machine, while Iron Patriot was a separate character.

He was considered that, in fact. Some theories even point to him having as many as six wives. Even the one-wife theory has to allow for the canon, where it’s quite clear that he has a way with the ladies.

Vulcan was destroyed in the original Star Trek timeline

Correct again, SoA! I had to read the production notes e-mailed to me by a Disney PR to learn all the facts you said.

Uh… false? Just guessing, hehe I need to sit down and watch Star Trek someday.

The story chronological order of the Fast and Furious series as of end 2013 is as follows (earliest stated first):

The Fast and the Furious
2 Fast 2 Furious
Fast & Furious
Fast Five
Fast & Furious 6
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift

Very true.

You’re right. It’s only destroyed on the alternate timeline.

Temple of Doom is a prequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Correcto mundo. Tokyo Drift takes place after all the existing movies cos’ one of the characters dies in it.

I know Temple of Doom came out of Lost Ark, but I have a feeling this is a trick question (I’ve only seen Ark and Crystal Skull). So I’m gonna say true, in the sense that the events in Doom take place before Ark (ie a prequel).

In the movie Olympus Has Fallen, Gerard Butler plays the President of the United States.

False.

Yes, TOD is a prequel.

Spider-Man has a female clone

True.

Home on the Range entered production after Pocahontas was released and had the working title Sweating Bullets.

True.

Gene Roddenberry is the director of the Star Trek original series.

Correct on Olympus Has Fallen. Gerard Butler plays a Secret Service agent.

Uh, false? Not familiar with Star Trek, although I loved the 2009 film and have plans to see its sequel.

In the Hawaii Five-0 reboot (2010), Kono Kalakaua is a woman.

True.

Rodenberry is the very famous creator of the series, but not a director.

In the Marvel comics, Jane Foster has been the alter-ego of Thor.

Yup correcto mundo, Kono in the 2010 remake is played by the lovely Grace Park.

Hmmm… this sounds too absurd to be false (if that makes sense?) so I’ll go with True.

In the movie Iron Man 3, Tony Stark’s latest suit is the Mark XLII.

True.

True in a non canon way. In one of those What If? from the 70-80’s, Thor (Donald Blake) wasn’t a superhero and his role was bestowed upon Jane Foster.

Pepper Potts in an armoured superhero in the comics.

Ding Ding Ding! Correct again. There was an article in a local newspaper that said the suit was the Mark VIII. A colleague of mine who knows his comic-book lore sent out a message to all the subs pointing out this grave error. I made sure I didn’t make the same mistake (not that I didn’t know it) in my review!

Ah, I should check out those What If series. I like alternate-timeline/universe stories.

This, if I’m not mistaken, is true. She even has a name to go with it (I forgot), and her wearing of an armour was (briefly) referenced in Iron Man 3 during a pivotal scene.

In the movie Rio, the character Luiz is voiced by George Lopez.

False. He voiced a different character.

That’s true. She had an armour of her own by the codename of Rescue. As the name indicates, she only participated in missions to save people, and the suit didn’t have offensive capacities such as weapons.

Perry White being black in Man of Steel is a reference to the Flashpoint comics

Correct! He voices the toucan Rafael, while Tracy Morgan voices the bulldog Luiz.

That’s right, I remember it from the production notes. Yippee!

False? Just have a gut feel. I’m looking forward to Man Of Steel, by the way, if only because of its magnificent trailer.

The name of the fictional police team in the Canadian drama Flashpoint is the Special Response Unit.

False, but it has the same initials.

Yes, false.

One of the Greeks inside the Wooden Horse was named Sinon

Correct! I’m surprised you know this, SoA, I didn’t know you knew about Flashpoint (unless you read one of my raves about it? :stuck_out_tongue:).

Um, false? I think it was called the Trojan Horse? Not sure who Sinon is, though, gotta brush up on my Greek literature.

The fictional city featured in the game Saints Row: The Third is called Steelport.

Eh… True.

It’s called Wooden Horse, or Trojan Horse, that’s indifferent and it’s not the reason it’s false. The reason is that Sinon wasn’t inside the horse, but in the outside, trying to get it inside the city.
