So, I got the Toy Story collection Buzz Lightyear, and it’s probably the most exciting toy I’ve ever recieved. Really, this guy is amazing!! I dare say it tops this Christmas’ Megatron, Jetfire, the Wii, everything.
But anyways, he’s from Toys R’ Us, and I’ve opened him, and of course played with him, and his head does not move Now, I’m extremely careful with him, laid him in his package every time I put him down, etc. He came with dead batteries, so I had him on off, put in new batteries, turned him on, and I’ve done everything he does. In space ranger mode, he won’t move his head at all, no matter what you press. Anyone else have this problem, or any idea what might be wrong?
It sounds like one very cool toy! Maybe you could go back to the Toys ‘R’ Us branch that you bought it from and ask if they could exchange it for another one, especially as your one came with dead batteries?
I have one with no head movement and am contemplating returning him but it would have to be a refund as they are out of stock and anyway some people have recieved 3, all with no head movement.
Someone says they contacted Thinkway Toys who say that international versions don’t have head movement. See review by S Jones
All the ones I have seen in the shops do! but I don’t think its a faulty toy. Apparently Buzz’s with no head movement have no mention of it in the instructions whereas the ones with head movement do mention head movement. Odd thing is the barcode is the same so I think its a bit sneaky. I’ve also heard the term ‘second wave’ used when referring to the ones with no head movement.
I’m a bit dissapointed (was for my son really, honest!) but am in 2 minds on whether to return it. Some people think the toy is still great without head movement. I got it on offer at Amazon but if I had paid full price I would get a refund and get one from a shop with head movement.
Well, mine is from Toys R’ Us, not Amazon. And It seems to be designed to move the head, because when you move it with your hand you can feel the gears grinding. I’m not sure if it has it in the instructions though. Maybe in wave 2 it got expensive and they still had the motor, they just didn’t hook it up properly or something?
It’s nice to know others have the same problem, thanks
As for returning it, I don’t know. I kinda think it’s good without head movement, but I like the way he looks at his wrist communicator when it’s open and stuff. I feel like I’m getting cheated price-wise though. Moving mechanisms on toys usually raise the price
