TS3 Cakes on Food Net Tonight!

Food Network’s “Challenge” series is doing a new episode tonight with four cake designers creating cakes inspired by Toy Story 3. 8 pm ET, 7 pm CT, check your cable listings.

If you’ve never seen one of these, they’ve done various animation-themed programs before, and the cakes can be spectacular. I’m eager to see what they do - and hope they don’t spoil too much.

Awesome!!! I’ll watch this.

I already have it set to record on my DVR!

I don’t know, food art always makes me kind of sad. The cakes on the Food Network always look really nice, but it’s only a fleeting feeling of exhilaration. You always know they’re going to be eaten at the end.

at any rate, I’ll probably just watch the clips when they go on youtube.

I will be watching tonight!

I really liked three of the cakes! It was great to see Mr. Pricklepants, as well.
Congrats to all the competitors and to the winner!

Just finished watching it. It was sweet to see Joan Cusack as a guest judge.

That Buzz Lightyear that one big guy made is gonna haunt my dreams, though…

Yes, that Buzz was a little scary. He had a tough time though; I think Buzz’s facial expressions would be the hardest to replicate in cake.

I just got done watching it, it was pretty good.

I can’t believe they killed themselves when it came to making those cakes. Darn cakes were huge! They did show some new footage of the movie also!

They showed:

[spoiler] The scene where the aliens saw this little truck in the daycare and they exclaimed “The claaaaw!”

There was also a scene that showed Jessie finding the Donation box.

If you remember in the trailer Jessie said the line “We can have a whole new life here!”, well in the new footage it actually showed the little clip of her saying the line to Woody.

It also showed a little clip of Mr. Pricklepants telling Woody to shush. :p[/spoiler]

If I’m right two more clips were shown, but I don’t remember what they were. Each little clip they showed was only a few seconds long, so maybe that’s why. D;

^Oh wow, I missed all of that besides [spoil]Jessie telling Woody that ‘we can have a whole new life here.’[/spoil] And I watched the whole thing. I am officially extremely unobservant. :frowning:

The Buzz was a bit creepy…but as people have said, I can’t imagine how difficult that must be to create!

They were all really well made, and as a PIXAR DIY fan, I was really impressed. Buzz’s head was way too small though, but I really liked the Lots-O-Huggin Bear cake. I was really think that the one with the Aliens and Mrs. Potato Head would have won, since it had so much going for it.

It’s really sad though, since you know the cakes are eventually either going to get eaten or thrown away. Also, disappointed in not seeing a Slinky or Mr. Potato Head.

Dang it, I missed the entire thing

I watched it with my sister and cousin! We enjoyed laughing at [spoil] that one guy who ran out of time to make Rex and his pitiful attempt at making Buzz! [/spoil] But he did way better than what I could do

I’m not too crazy for the cake that won [spoil] It didn’t even look like a cake! [/spoil]

I missed it :frowning:

I was gonna ask someone if they could perhaps post the YouTube links to this, but seeing as there is some new footage revealed in the programme, perhaps not. The cakes sound pretty amazing, though.
