It may be a coincidence, but does anyone think that the scene with [spoil]Andy driving away from Bonnie’s house[/spoil] is at all similar to the ending of Back to the Future? Watch the BTTF scene here if you don’t remember it: youtube.com/watch?v=4BPxF1mLYFM.
Sometimes I see things that aren’t there, but I think that the houses, trees, shot pointing down a straight road, and car receding in the distance give the two scenes a certain similarity. Do you think that the resemblance is intentional, accidental, or are the scenes completely different?
Andy would’ve said “Roads, where we’re going, we don’t need roads” ROFL!
Maybe Buzz would’ve said that. LOL! -Omar
That would’ve made me nerdgasm uncontrollably.
I think that’s jumping to a pretty big assumption if you ask me.
Here’s something I did notice about the ending: the last thing you see before it fades out is the scene panning up to the sky, and in the original Toy Story the first thing we see after pulling away from the old Disney castle is Andy’s sky wallpaper. Kind of bookends the entire story in a way.
I agree that it is a big assumption, but it could make a certain amount of sense, considering that both scenes, in a way, involve teenagers moving from their childhood into their adulthood. Oh well, it was just a thought.
I noticed that too! Its nice to know that I’m not insane…haha.
In a way it also reminded me of the end to the 3rd BTTF movie when Doc leaves Marty for the final time…
I’ve never seen Back to the Future, so I wouldn’t know.
I love Back to the Future, but I haven’t seen Toy Story 3 yet, so I know what you mean. I guess it could be, but again, my opinion is worth less than Armond White’s(if that’s humanly possible.)
Yeah BTTF is already on my long list of movies to watch this summer.
I’ve never seen Back to the Future, so I wouldn’t know.
I mean absolutely no offense, but if you haven’t seen it, then what’s the point of commenting in this thread? It’s kinda pointless to post a response that adds nothing to the conversation.
I don’t think the endings are the same. A lot of movies have ended the way TS3 ended. Plus the ending to BTTF was showing that the three characters were going to go off on an adventure together. The ending of TS3
showed that Andy was moving on from the toys and they were moving on from him. Andy was going to have a new adventure without them and the toys were going to have a new adventure without Andy.
Oh and Sheriff Woody Pride, you’re commenting on this thread without contributing anything so you’re post is also pointless.
