TS3 loses to Twilight at Peoples' Choice Awards D:

Could someone tell me when the best family film happened? I watched the whole show, and never saw that.

Well, Iā€™ll be the poop-face here and use facts.

Peopleā€™s Choice Awards is voted on ny the ā€œpeopleā€, not intellegent or cultured people. Not even film critics. People prefer trash to excellent cinematography and talent. Point in case-Twilight Saga garbage won. There should really be a maturity level requirement to vote, but then it wouldnā€™t be the ā€œpeopleā€™sā€ choice awards, would it?

Butā€¦ There are no vampires in Twilightā€¦

I could have seen this coming, any great films donā€™t stand a chance against any of the rediculously popular movies and TV shows. But itā€™s ā€œPeopleā€™s Choiceā€, that doesnā€™t necessarily mean what they choose is any good. But we around here already figured that out, didnā€™t we?

Dear People: WTF??? Love, everyone on Pixar Planet.

The people of the country have zero taste in good movies.

^

This is sooo ridiculous. Okay, maybe Inception. MAYBE. But Twilight is kind ofā€¦ well, crap. Why???

And this is why i dont give a crap about the peoples choice awardsā€¦

In fact, this has inspired me , im gonna draw the utility belt buzz killing edward.

^ lol, and Iā€™d like to see a REAL vote taking place. That vote made me think it would be about as fair as having only PixarPlanet vote (no offense, but you get what Iā€™m saying). So my challenge is for someone to take that poll to some popular site, and see what the real result is.

This is why, for all my comments about the Academy being biased and elitist, itā€™s still a darn sight better than the alternative. At least the winner of the Best Picture Oscar will generally be decent, even if tripe does sometimes get nominated coughthereadercough.

Still, to be fair, from what I gather, Eclipse is the best Twilight film so far, apparently because it has the ability to poke fun at itself. So itā€™s not as much of a travesty as if TS3 had lost to Twilight or New Moon.

Cool!

Ah, Twilight againā€¦ I agree with every single one of you here. Eclipse does NOT deserve it. I am so tired of these moviesā€¦

But ALL of my friends are fans. Like, really really big fans. And I have to put up with them. No Iā€™m joking. Iā€™m fine with the fact that they talk about Twilight whenever they get the chance, as long as I can talk about Pixar all the time. Not that they care to listen butā€¦ :stuck_out_tongue:

I was confused about that statement as well. Punctuation for the win!

Actually, he used the correct punctuation. He wrote:

Now, if we add the punctation that comes before the section in question, we get:

Twlight has no real soul like toy story 3. I mean those movies donā€™t deserve any of the recogniztion they get, pixar, however, dosent get the amount of recognition it deserves. twilight is just one hit wonder that in 5 years no one will give a crap about twlight , however toy story along with Pixar will always be timeless.

I see no appositives to take out even with he lack of punctuation.

Ps: WoodBuzz: you might want to sensor words like c**p and such since this is a family forum. Just as a side note

Mabey the were all drunk or something and THOUGHT they voted for Toy Story 3. Btw C*** isnā€™t a bad word, itā€™s just kind of a minor one, 11 year olds say it.

Yeah, but itā€™s against the forum rules to swear, regardless if one thinks itā€™s a good or bad word. Usually when mods see it being used theyā€™ll give you a warning and censor the word.

True, but I prefer not to say it, because depending on your definition, C**p can be profanity.

I guess, but still, they used to say it on Nickelodeon shows.

Haha, really? I was watching Surfā€™s Up the other day, and I was suprised to hear the C**p word, more than once! They also used the word "p*ckerface . Quite suprising. However, I agree with PPT, that itā€™s best the word be censored on this site, because some people find it offensive. I use it in everyday language around friends, but thereā€™s a time and place for everything, even words.

Oh come on, crap is on on the same level as stupid. Before I scrolled up to see what you guys were censoring I thought we were talking about a certain other 4 letter c word. But crap is used on nickelodeon, cartoon network etc. I think Disney is only one that avoids it. In fact, shows like Regular Show on Cartion network used the phrase ā€œpissed offā€. And itā€™s not even an adult swim show. Crap doesnt even register on the radar.

Edit: also poker face? You could use that on sesame streetā€¦
Unless Iā€™m misunderstanding the word you censoring?

No, you are correct. As I said earlier, I personally donā€™t have any problem with it. But I have been warned by moderators in the past for using that word on these forums.

At least crap can be associated with saying something negative about someone or something and offend the prudest of soccer moms if said by their 3 year oldā€¦poker face Ive never heard of being referred to as a anything remotely bad. Did this person just hate Lady Gaga with a passion? it just means to hide intentions. Its starting to sound made up.

Should be start censoring ā€œYahtzeeā€? and "ā€œbuttered toastā€? has about as much credibility as curse words if you ask me.

This proves exactly one thing: that the Twilight movies are more popular than Toy Story 3ā€¦with people who vote in the Peopleā€™s Choice award. Thatā€™s it. In fact, you can say pretty near the same thing about nearly any honor or award that can be bestowed or not bestowed on a movie. What ever is included in or left off a particular criticā€™s list of the best films of the year is just that criticā€™s opinion. Any award you can find is going to be handed out based on the opinions of selected people. They may be very qualified people, but theyā€™re still human and theyā€™ve got their own various biases. There is no bias-proof formula for determining what movies or good or which movies are better than which other movies. In the court of public opinion that is box office results, Toy Story 3 beat out Eclipse by over $100 million gross is the U.S. alone, so I guess you could say it was ā€œthe peopleā€™s choiceā€ where it really counted. (Though varying ticket prices for the 3D release mean I donā€™t know which movie was actually seen by more people. And repeat viewings make that hard to determine anyway.)

I donā€™y pay much attention to the Peopleā€™s Choice awards to begin with, so I donā€™t know how much protection they do or donā€™t have against ballot stuffing: the same fans voting for their favorite movie over and over again. Whether thatā€™s a concern or not, the significance of this event is limited. Ten or twenty years down the road, Twilight will be a fad past its time. Toy Story 3, a high quality family film that finishes off a very popular series of films with the might of the Disney marketing machine behind it, will still be around.
