I’ve been wondering about that line… i guess it was a goof
I’d love to buy the book, dying to but I’d like to be suprised a bit when watching the film
I picked this up today and unfortunately I had the film’s storyline spoiled for me again cause of the graphic novel. This isn’t really the first time something like this had happened, cause before I saw The Incredibles I read a similar comic in an issue of Disney Adventures that was just on the opening of the film and even though it didn’t actually say anything I kind of made a wild guess that Buddy was Syndrome just by reading it. However that only gave away part of the story and not the whole story as this comic does. These are the only spoilers that I’ll give away:
[spoil]The room that Andy’s toys stay in at the daycare is called the Caterpillar Room, which I guess is named for the youngest children that come there. And apparently while the toys are getting abused by the kids, Lotso and his gang are always in a separate room being treated nicely by the more gentle kids.[/spoil]
[spoil]Woody uses his pullstring line “Somebody’s poisoned the water hole!” again.[/spoil]
[spoil]The Buzz Lightyear instruction manual that was seen in the trailers and is used by Lotso to take control of Buzz was actually in one of the daycare’s storage rooms. Bookworm’s purpose in the film is to help Lotso search through all the books on the shelves to find the manual. There’s a picture of Zurg in the manual too, at least in the novel.[/spoil]
[spoil]The reason Buzz turned into Spanish mode is because Rex was not supposed to hold down the reset button for more than 5 seconds, according to the manual.[/spoil]
[spoil]Sid’s cameo as a garbage man might possibly reappear again at the end of the film. It shows him picking up Lotso after the toys were taken to the dump saying “I had me one of these when I was a kid!” with a happy look on his face and then straps him to the front of his truck. He has the same goggles, headphones, and yellow vest as the image we saw here before.[/spoil]
Here’s a bit of trivia that was in the magazine as well:
The behind the scenes page says that Lotso was originally created for a Christmas special from Pixar that ended up becoming Toy Story, which I knew right away was referring to A Tin Toy Christmas which was a TV special that never got made. This is also where Woody and Wheezy came from: [url]http://pixar.wikia.com/A_Tin_Toy_Christmas[/url]
Lee Unkrich says that Big Baby is based on a similar doll that his daughter had.
The Pizza Planet truck, Luxo ball, and “A113” are all confirmed to reappear again in Toy Story 3.
This one’s related more to the original film but it says that Andrew Stanton made the final design for Rex, which probably explains that little cameo in Wall-E.
Spoilers aside, I know it’s one thing to be reading the story and another to actually see it so I’m hoping that knowing the whole story now won’t ruin the experience for me.
Wow! Seriously? I saw the movie friday and I’d love to read that magazine! That kind of sucks that they ruined it for all those people that haven’t seen it though…
Woah! A magazine for the old Buzz Lightyear TV show?
Sweet! Tell me if you see any sites selling it, good sir!
after seeing the film i can tell that probably was suppose to be a caption for the image
LOL. Are you talking about at the part where [spoil]they’re about to die in the insinorator and Jessie asks him what they should do?[/spoil] LMAO I’m seriously cracking up thinking of what would happen if he actually said that in them movie. Just imagine that right now. LOL.
I actually really want that magazine. I saw an ad for it on the mini-mags the theater gave out for the movie. I’m a huge graphic novel geek, so the magazine would make me very happy.
yup thats the part, lol
