There are no spoilers in this post, but I wanted to give a heads-up/warning about the Toy Story 3 Movie Magazine. I saw it in Costco, but others have mentioned seeing it in Wall-Mart… I expect it’s pretty common.
I’ve seen Toy Story 3 all the way through, and am pretty familiar with the plot, so when I glanced through the magazine and noticed there was a comic inside of it (makes up most of the magazine, in fact), I wasn’t worried about spoilers. I glanced through it more and more and was surprised… it really was a comic adaptation of the entire movie. Many of the jokes are in there. Almost every single plot point is in there, and every character. All of this available a full month before the movie is to be released to theaters. I was surprised!
If you don’t want spoilers, don’t pick this up, or at least don’t look through it for now.
That’s interesting that the comic reflects exactly what happens in Toy Story 3 step by step. Usually with publications they’re a rough adaptation. I haven’t seen it over here yet, but it’s just the thing I’d buy if I had seen it around, so thanks for the warning.
Yea, I know how hard it is.
I don’t wanna spoil TS3 BUT IT’S JUST SOOO TEMPTING!!!
I just came back from the book shop and I saw the novel and the comic.
I decided not to get it.
Im just going to watch the movie when it comes out
I spotted this at Wal-Mart yesterday. I decided to pick up a copy since it was convenient, but I’m not going to read the comic until after I’ve seen the film. I did look at the first couple of pages, though, and it looks pretty good! Seems like a reasonable facsimile to enjoy during the months between the theater run and the DVD release!
i just got mine at chapters and am not going to read the comic untill after i see the film, as for the cover it is a star wallpaper background from andys room, with buzz and woody in their newer runnig positions along with to small circles one with the aliens in it another with lotso in it and a bottom banner with a preview of the comic in it. phew
Here it is on ebay. There’s a picture of the cover so you can see what it looks like: cgi.ebay.com/TOY-STORY-3-OFFICIA … 0572299226
It should be pretty easy to find. I’ve found it prominently displayed at several stores I’ve visited lately.
Thanks for the warning! I noticed it in Barnes and Nobles yesterday and knew not to read it thanks to this post. I checked out the first few pages, and it reminded me of the trailers very much.
Someone on GameFAQS partially spoiled the ending for me since those forums didn’t have whiteout spoilers. Now I can’t unforget it. I already spoiled both Wall-E and Up before they were released in theaters, but that’s only because I didn;t really care if I got spoiled about those two.
I hate the internet. And I really hate however in Disney’s marketing department thought it was a good idea to spoiler the entire film in a giveaway magazine.
I will still say that if the ending is true (which it probably is): I’m pretty satisfied with it. It doesn’t end in a way where everything is happily ever after (like Wall-E), but ends in a way that’s kinda better sweet (like the Iron Giant). I’m glad that Pixar didn’t go the easy way out on this one.
Edit: I also find it kinda weird that the ending is spoiled for me on the same day that LOST ends, and I don’t even watch that show. So, I’m blaming JJ Abrams too. >_>
For Toy Story 3, I already have a very vague idea about what the plot will turn out to be like and a pretty close hypothesis on what the ending will be like. Apart from that, I’m trying to avoid spoilers like the plague, since I really want to know as little as possible about the film. I really want to be surprised.
However, the Little Golden Book was too tempting to resist. I’m saving it till after the film.
