Evangeline: The original was apparently a mega-hit. Your dad has good taste (apparently because he has the same opinion as me, haha )! You should probably check this one out cos’ it has cool guys, hot chicks, and wicked-awesome action! I really want to see this, but it’s not on Oz FTA.
…
Okay, so I just discovered what must be the most unintentionally funny political talkshow ever. It’s called The O’Reilly Factor.
Basically, this guy is a “traditionalist” political commentator, but really, he’s not helping out the Conservatives much. This guy is just so incredibly arrogant, close-minded, and an outright bully that it is almost comical. I get huge laughs out of watching him trying to outtalk his opponents and imposing his views upon them to the point of aggression. Check this out:
Jeremy Glick interview - Billy boy here not only spoke on behalf of the interviewee’s departed father, but actually cut the interview short in an act of cowardice.
Geraldo interview - Bill made a good point about illegal immigration (although I agree with the interviewee that the politicians used what is essentially a drink-driving offense and turned into an immigration issue), but the way he conducted a shouting match was not only unprofessional, it was downright rude towards the guest.
Richard Dawkins interview - Again, he is entitled to his view on religion and all that, but he makes very poor arguments for his case and didn’t let Mr Dawkins finish his statements.
Jesse Lange interview - This is by far the funniest and without a doubt the silliest. Bill has two guest speakers who have different opinions on an issue (ooh, good, so we get both sides of the story), but when he finds that one doesn’t share his opinion, he attempts to manipulate the other one, even in the face of empirical evidence. The best part was that Jesse came prepared, with a witty comeback from Bill’s own book!
I guess the point I’m trying to make is, for a show which proclaims itself as “The Spin-Free Zone”, it is incredibly biased and one-sided. Watch the O’Reilly factor if you really want to see how ignorant a man can be. I’m not against Conservatism (in fact, I agree with some of their values), but I’m against psychological intimidation and disrespectful conduct. And this joker just makes Conservatives look bad.
Now I’m going to watch The Daily Show With Stephen Colbert. That’s a much more intelligent show than this comedy programme.
