TV Shows You Watch

Any Fringe fans on this board? Because I have a link to what has to be the coolest tv tie-in of all time. OF ALL TIME.

Tie-in album reveals future spoilers and much more.

“Top Chef Masters”

I haven’t seen this one, but I do like Iron Chef. What is Top Chef Masters like?

I’m actually on the finale for season 1 right now. In each of the first 6 episodes, there are 4 different contestants who are renowned chefs. They compete to win stars and the person with the highest amount goes on to compete in the semifinals. Once the 6 semifinalists are chosen, it’s like regular “Top Chef,” if you’ve seen that before.

I actually prefer this version of the series and “Top Chef: Just Desserts” to the regular series.

That sounds neet queen_of_painting! I’ll have to check it out

I’ve been watching a lot of shows off my favorite channels Planet Green and Nat Geo Wild.

*The Alaska Experiment
*Wild Justice
*Operation Wild
*Snake Wranglers
*Meerkat Manor
*Planet Earth

And lots of random documenteries on the environment and wildlife!

I wish more people cared about the medium of television. I don’t really know anyone who actually cares about it. Pretty much everyone I know only sees television as that thing that sometimes provides shows they may or may not watch and possibly need to be caught up on. But I have yet to see someone embrace the medium as a whole like say, books, comics, film, music or even video games.

That’s not to say there aren’t fans out there. I’m sure everyone who watches tv is a fan. I’ve just never heard of anyone who’d name television as a key influence in shaping their life and experiences like the other mediums I’ve mentioned. In fact I predict the extinction of television as its own separate medium by 2030 and no one will miss it.

I find it quite sad really.

I find it interesting how various mediums are starting to converge nowadays. You have TV-movies, film adaptations of TV shows (A-Team. Miami Vice, etc.), TV show adaptations of films (mostly by Dreamworks Animation and Disney), film adaptations of books (HTTYD, LOTG), non-linear or multiple-choice narrative video games (Grand Theft Auto series, Hard Rain)… the list goes on.

And TV shows are now being archived for posterity in DVD sets, something unheard less than two decades ago (Back in the 90s, I had to time my VHS and record all my favourite cartoons). And then you have Catch-Up TV, Tivo, Pay-Demand, illegal torrents, semi-legal uploads on Youtube. Advertisers do not have a monopoly on airing dates now, and have to come up with more creative ideas to reach their TV-viewing audience.

Who knows what the future will bring? As Dennis Hopper’s mad-bomber character said in one of my favourite movies of all-time:

“Interactive TV, Jack! The wave of the future!”

I care! It’s still a very valid medium for storytelling, and there’s some wonderful work out there. There are some shows with characters I become pretty attached to. I mean, I cried the first time I finished watching “Freaks and Geeks” because I knew there would never be another episode.

Big Bang Theory
Top Gear

I don’t tend to watch that much TV, as its usually filled with 95% rubbish here in the UK. I mainly watch the above 2 programs on BBC iPlayer & 4OD

Hilarious show!

I’ve recently come across a new show on Cartoon Network that is quite enjoyable! The Regular Show. It’s funny, and also the two main character’s frequent use of the word “Dude” reminds me of, well, everyone I know!

I love TRS too, EJE! It really is a breath of fresh air from the usual ‘high-school-setting’ shows (which makes up 90% of children’s shows on TV nowadays… :unamused:). The fact that Mordecai and Rigby are ‘young adults’ entering the real world (starting first jobs, looking for dates, hanging out in their dorm) made it easier for me to connect with them.

I was very surprised when one of them swore the word ‘p*ss’ in one episode. Not to mention it employs a lot of double-entendres and nostalgic references (I loved the video-game episode) that older viewers would appreciate and that would fly over the heads of most of the younger 'uns.

You must of read my mind thedriveintheater! Honestly, those are the reasons I love it. It’s different (I am so sick of High School/Preteen shows) and the fact that Mordecai and Rigby are young adults dealing with that is nice to watch and quite relateable.

I haven’t seen the episode witht he "pssed’ word, but I was suprised that a couple mentioned crp. I don’t have a problem with that word, but I was expecting to hear it on Cartoon Network. I suppose that vocabulary and the meaning it has been changing. They also like to say "That insert object blows.

I’ve been watching Toddlers & Tiaras a lot. It makes me so. angry. The kid’s don’t want to do the pageants half the time, and it’s their moms that force them into it! It’s insanity. I can’t believe what our world is coming to.

And American Idol a little bit. It’s really bad without Simon, but it’s been bad for years now. I don’t know if I’m gonna keep watching it or not.

Just got M.A.S.H. season 1 on DVD.
Boy, what a brilliant show. The way they balance serious topics and humor is second to none, except for maybe Babylon 5.

I watching some old Tv shows online like happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, Mork and Mindy and charles in charge. Happy days and Laverne & shirley are on the HUb chaannel. We don;t have that channel. There was on free preview of the HUb for a little while. I used to watch almost of these shows when they were on primetime.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Gargoyles
NASCAR racing(does that count  )

These days I regularly watch good ol’ House MD, Bones, and Chuck. But I also love Phineas and Ferb, Avatar the Last Airbender, Batman: Brave and the Bold, and House of Mouse on the kid’s show side of things.

Phineas & Ferb! Of course!! adds that to self list

Thanks for saying that, Rac. Totally forgot. 8D

Fatal Attractions on Animal Planet is great. It’s a “killer” show (pun intended). Okkay, I shouldn’t joke about that, however it’s very insightful. Some people just think they can tame wild animals, and it ends badly.

My Life is a Zoo on Nat Geo Wild. A couple running a family zoo and animal rescue center. That’s the show, and it’s great! Makes me want to own a zoo and not own a zoo at the same time!

I hope Human Target doesn’t get cancelled. It has been a disappointment this season, but I hope that Fox gives it another chance.
