TV Shows You Watch

I watched “Firefly,” along the the movie, and they were both pretty good. Nothing to knock me off my feet but above-average storytelling. I admit I still like “Buffy” more…

We watched a few episodes of Lost for my literature class last semester, and I loved it! I kept watching and am now on season three.

Does anyone else watch the Mission Impossible TV show?

I bought the complete series dvd set for Daria at the beginning of this year. I watched two episodes and didn’t watch it again until a couple of days ago. Now it’s all I watch. I enjoy it even more now than I did during it’s orginal run. I get undertand more of what’s going on and certain references.

Do you mean Mission Impossible or something else?

I don’t watch a lot of TV but I recently saw two episodes of the Regular Show. It was quite fun, but then, I’m a sucker for anthropomorphic animals. xD And the Dutch dub wasn’t even so bad!

I may have said this before, but one of my favourite shows is the Canadian police drama Flashpoint. This ain’t your standard ‘whoddunit’ murder-mystery of the week. One difference is that the cops in this show actually try to prevent a crime from happening, due to the fact that they’re a SWAT team. This significantly raises the stakes because one wrong move could end in disaster, so they quite literally have to choose their words carefully during negotiations. Another difference is that the antagonists are not necessarily pure evil. Most of them are emphatetic ‘baddies’, you can see the reason why they’re robbing a bank, or holding up a restaurant, or threatening to shoot somebody, be it as revenge for a loved one, a paranoid delusion or forced to by a third party.

If you love character conflicts with emotional heart, this is one show I highly recommend. Even my mum watches this with me (probably cos’ she’s a cop show fan too). I’m already at Season 4, and I’m really sad that Season 5 will be the final season (much like another cop show I like, CSI Miami). It seems like all the shows I love (24, Life, Trauma) all come to an end, while the ones I hate seem to go on forever. Anyway, better for it to end on a high than to jump the shark!

I love this show so much I’m planning to write a crossover fanfic with another show that I like. It’s still in the development stages, but hopefully I’ll get it done by year’s end.

Anyway, here’s the intro, go see it, it’s wicked.

P.S. If you remember Power Rangers from your childhood, the Pink Ranger’s actress plays the sniper in the squad! If that’s awesome, I don’t know what is.

I love going on Netflix and discovering that they’ve added a tv show or movie that I’ve wanted to see for years. I went on it today and saw that they added Freaks and Geeks. I was going to buy the whole series on DVD years ago without seeing one episode. But something told me to wait. It’s a good thing I did. But I really enjoyed the first episode. I’m looking forward to watching the rest of them. It’s funny seeing so many actors in one show before they were huge stars.

Oh, I also watch Once Upon a Time, and I might start watching Charmed.

Currently watching The Moomins (1990), Astro Boy (the 80s series), and Black Jack.

Did anyone see the preview for 1600 Penn? I love Josh Gad. I didn’t think the show super amazing, but Gad was funny!

The two tv shows I’m mainly watching now are 1990s Moomins and Sailor Moon.

Probably the show I watch most regularly for about a year now is The Big Bang Theory. I think it’s funny and inventive, and I think I’ve actually gotten a little smarter watching it sometimes. 8D Glad it won the Emmy Award too!

I also used to watch The Simpsons a few years back quite often, but I haven’t too much in recent years. Those are the main two that come to mind right now.

That’s a popular one at my house. I love all the nerdiness!

Here’s shows I watch on a regular basis:

The Colbert Report
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart
South Park
King of the Hill
The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson
No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain
Regular Show
Gravity Falls

The shows I’m currently watching (some irregularly):

  • Creamy Mami
  • Sailor Moon
  • Moomin (1990s series)
  • Gravity Falls
  • Black Jack

Wanna watch Robotech soon…

If most of you don’t know by now, I’m a huge fan of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Unfortunately, I’m waaay behind on Season 3 and the finale was, like, a fortnight ago. :unamused:

In the meantime, I’ve started on Littlest Pet Shop. It has a few voice actors from FIM and even the same music composer, Daniel Ingham. Some people have even drawn comparisons between characters from both shows: Zoe Trent has Twilight’s hairstyle and colour, Minka Mark has Pinkie’s personality, Blythe sounds like Rainbow Dash (probably cos’ she’s voiced by the same actress), et cetera.

Personally, the only similarities I feel are the art style and the all-ages humour and charm. If you approach it with an open mind, you might end up liking it as much as I do (it helps if you like animals too, cos’ there’s some really exotic critters which don’t really belong in a pet store in there!).

I must admit, I started LPS because of the similarities to FIM. I didn’t really like it much. But i tried. 8D
Is anybody excited for the Game of Thrones premiere? Honestly, I’m not as excited as I thought I would be. I think I’m more excited for the Borgias at this point. GoT is so exhausting and depressing. And that’s unlikely to change this season. 8D

^I’ve actually never seen Game of Thrones.
