Unintentional foreshadowing in TS2?

I noticed this rather interesting line of Stinky Pete’s tonight and couldn’t find any other posts about it:

“Idiots! Children destroy toys! You’ll all be ruined, forgotten, spending eternity rotting in some landfill!

Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t believe Pixar was planning TS3 or even had potential ideas in 1999. So I doubt this was done deliberately. But could this line possibly have inspired that part of TS3 later on? I just found it quite interesting that Prospector mentioned a landfill, of all things

or maybe being burned in an incinerator is different from rotting in a landfill therefore no foreshadowing has occured? o_0 I’m sure toys wouldn’t appreciate either though

Well, yes, there’s a difference between a dump that burns its trash vs. a landfill, where trash just sits forever, but it’s still a trash collection site, isn’t it? A landfill probably wouldn’t really work as a plot device anyway, because the toys could easily leave whenever they chose. And Andy’s toys don’t give up. You can’t escape an incinerator, unless you’ve got some LGM floating around.

It’s just interesting to me that they end up “ruined and forgotten” at a trash site, even though it’s not exactly the same one that the Prospector mentioned.

I guess they may of. They could of sorta got the idea from that line.

Sorta like Prospector’s earlier line about how Andy probably won’t take Woody to college. We saw how that ended.

Though we have no reason to believe that they originally planned a trilogy of Toy Story movies. Toy Story 2 capped off the series for Pixar, and they moved onto other things. I guess it was in the midst of Circle 7’s Toy Story 3 project that Pixar felt the need to put the series to rest.

I think any foreshadowing to future movies is coincidence, but it’s still funny how they connect.

I think Pixar alway’s were thinking of a sequel, but didn’t get around to it for a long time.

Only thing I noticed that was obvious was how the Prospector and Lotso both thought about having owners. Their personalites were so alike, it was crazy.

Pete got an owner though and Lotso sorta did, but he was on a garbage truck.

Whoa! That is some foreshadowing!
