Up has gotten a new release date:
May, eh? O_O Is this official or is the site butchering things?
This could be an outdated film profile. It’s not an article, so there isn’t a date to mark the report of the info.
~~=oP
It also says A Bug’s Life was released November 27th, when it was released the 25th. So I wouldn’t worry about that. And if they’re right, then YAY earlier release date! But for now, it’s far off no matter how they tweak it.
I’m not sure if this is true or not, but I’ll just wait and find out.
ComingSoon.net is also reporting that date, and I trust those sources implicitly. Consider this confirmed, unless otherwise noted by Disney•Pixar.
So this is a month earlier then, right? Is it usual practice for Pixar to change the US release date, even after a specific date has been put on the full-length trailer? This seems unorganised, on Disney’s part. Maybe they are worried about competition from other films so they changed it…
I know that for Ratatouille, the Australian release date was changed about five times - even as close as two weeks before it was meant to come out it was changed! But our release date was all over the shop. I really hope this means we get it a month earlier, too. Oh please, oh please, oh please.
Which trailer for Up have YOU seen, rachelcakes? Hmm? ![]()
Heheh. All joking aside, to my recollection, Cars is the only other Pixar film that had its theatrical release date changed after being announced. However, the change was far more dramatic.

I’ve seen a few reliable sites report it so I believe them. What is Up about anyway?
Robert: We don’t know. According to Pete Docter, the possible director of the film, it’s about a “seventy-something grandpa” who fights beasts in the jungle.
- You mean old man, nobody knows if he had children. Either way I have some news. The receptionist at Pixar denies the existance of Up, and Nate Wragg has no idea when it’ll be out, so people are a bit clueless about it as of now, unless they are working on it I guess.
I got mixed up with WALL●E.
I still hope we get it in early August, rather than in September, though…
So, technically, you could say that we do know what it’s about. ![]()
They (Pixar) are not clueless about Up, they just don’t want to leak any information.
Martin: I thought Pete Docter did say exactly, “grandpa”.
Rachel: LOL! ![]()
A113- Pete says guy.
Grandpa was a reference to the house’s smell.
Rachel- The receptionist was genuinely clueless.
LOL thanks for explaining that.
Clueless receptionist? Mind if I ask how you got that number?
Based on answers we have received from emailing and calling Pixar employees about the Pizza Planet truck, I would not be surprised if the receptionist was lying, but maybe he/she’s not even working on the film.
Maybe NOBODY is. ![]()
It sounds like an outer-space type movie but that wouldn’t make sense with Wall *E coming out. I sure hope they shed some light on it soon.
A113- The receptionist AKA the operator AKA the front desk (wo)man is definitely not working on Up. He just answers calls and stuff, when asked when Up would come out he said: “Excuse me… I’ve never heard of that.” If you really want to call Pixar use this number: 510-922-3000 It’s really cool, but I won’t spoil it for you. Don’t flood them with calls though, if you really want to talk to someone say “Operator”. Long-distance charges may apply.
First of all, how did you get that number, and why are you telling it to us if you don’t want us to flood Pixar with calls?
I’m not a NOSY Pixar fan or anything. ![]()
martini, why would you post their phone number and suggest to everybody NOT to call it?
And A113, Pixar.com has a contact page.
~~=oP
A113- Well, it is on the Company Info part of Pixar.com, and why am I telling you, because at Pixar Planet us Pixar fans share info. I call that number like once a month or less, it’s really for general inquiries, which you must direct to the live operator, so that’s why I said not to flood them with calls. Although you can ask the automated operator to talk to an employee (sometimes they answer.)
P.S. Did you call yet, cus if you did you heard the awesome answering machine!
PV- I NEVER said not to call them, I said to not flood them (call them in excess). I would appreciate if people didn’t put words in my mouth and use a nasty smiley to illustrate how they feel.
