You can drown them?!? I don’t think you can with PS2- I trapped one in the pool for days and they never died. I did, however, get a diving board and have them jump off it when there was no pool underneath. Took a couple of tries but eventually they landed as a tombstone. I’m sick.
Usually I burned them to death, but the diving board was easier since there was no mess to clean up afterwards.
FireFly - There are only six levels? That really sucks.
lizardgirl - That’s sick, man.
FONY - Yeah, you can drown them in the PC version of the game. Too bad that you can’t do it in the PlayStation 2 version, as it’s a relieving action to execute if you own a Sim that won’t cooperate.
Puh-ha! You know, I never did try that “diving board” technique. I’ll have to test it out one of these days.
Ooh, I love the Sims2!
It’s really addicting… I used to play it for hours at a time.
I really love designing the houses and things. And I always made “perfect families”. They were always very pretty/handsome and all their kids would get A+. I guess I’m still OCD while playing video games.
The Star Swordsman: I just recently started playing Mario Kart, but Mario Kart Wii. It is so much fun and so well designed! I love that you can be in last and then you can be in first a minute later. It’s the only racing game I’ve ever liked.
I used to have The Sims a few years ago - until one one them caused a fire on the stove, but there wasn’t a smoke alarm installed so the house burned down. Heheh. The one thing I didn’t like about the game was the time was too fast and it was hard to do all the things you had to do in one day, especially if you had more than two Sims. But the language they spoke was entertaining.
Yeah, The Sims does have really fast time. It sometimes takes an hour for a sim to go to the bathroom…
But if it were any slower I think it would be kind of boring. In Sims2 especially. Half the time I am waiting for a sim to grow up and become a teenage/adult/etc! Plus the fast paced feel of the game actually helps you with time management and multitasking. I read in a news article several years ago that the Sims may actually be good for you because you are managing several lives at once.
I’ve been playing Sims 2 Pets. I made this weird ringmaster Sim and a bunch of weird dogs and a cat, and made his home like a zoo.
Well, I used a cheat for the dachshund puppy, and he’d not listened to me when I tried to lock him in his pen, and he ran away because he was too stupid to get the food that was waiting for him in his pen. But, he came back, and I locked him up.
I separated the pets so my Sim can train them easier, but seriously I think he’s going to be bitten one of these days, if that is possible. The dogs don’t like being cooped up at all. Though the cat’s quite pleased.
I’ve never laid hands on a SIMS game either, and I never knew you could actually kill off the little critters/people. I always thought it was just taking care of your pets/people, like those nanopets, except on a PC.
I’m not a hard-core gamer like most of you here, but I’ll enjoy a good game. I’m still trying to get all trophies for SSBB and trying to find my way around Sonic and the Secret Rings, even though I hated it. I was expecting an adventure-type game, but it turned out to be more like a series of mini-stages that get me from point A to point B without having much control of any other movements (it’s just running forward really, really fast). If anyone has this game, does it get better? I’m wondering if I just haven’t played it long enough for it to grow on me.
TSS: It’s actually really awesome! I’ve never played Mario Kart before this one, so I can’t compare it to previous games but it is a great party game. I wouldn’t buy it for the Wii Wheel part of the game… although it can be fun… you’ll probably end up abandoning it sooner or later because it’s so hard to use! (Or maybe that’s just me… )
I’m in two minds about whether to get Mario Kart Wii, or Wii Fit. I really want to try out the Wii balance board to test out my BMI and see what my centre of gravity is (it’s probably really bad), as well as play those fun mini games I’ve seen on the ad on TV. But Mario Kart Wii sounds really fun so I don’t know…
You should try it out but I wouldn’t recommend buying the game exclusively for the Wii Wheel factor. It definitely makes it harder to control, especially on Rainbow Road and stuff.
One game I am totally anxious to get is Madden 09. I have loved Madden since I started playing the 2004 version. I played it so much to the point where I am ranked in the top ten in the world of the worlds most popular football game.
