Video Games

Bioshock is my favorite video game ever, hands down. The first time I played it, I was awestruck. The storyline, the characters, the various levels, beautiful graphics…it was amazing. I’ve played through it at least five times, and it never gets old. Bioshock 2 is great, but not as good as the first. Can’t wait for the movie, and Bioshock 3 :stuck_out_tongue: Any other Bioshock fans out there?

Fallout 3 is the most fun game I’ve played, and also the longest. Very immersive, tons of quests, awesome headshots. Counting down to Fallout: New Vegas.

Portal and inFamous are also pretty awesome, although you could finish Portal in 2 hours if you’re quick :open_mouth: GLaDOS is the best video game character ever created, she manages to come off as both hilarious and creepy (at the same time). Both Portal and inFamous are getting sequels, I’m very excited.

I have two ALL-TIME favorites:

  1. Sonic The Hedgehog. I don’t care what anyone says, he’s the coolest!
  2. Halo. I love kicking Covenant butt.

I’m currently listening to the Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode 1 soundtrack, and it is AWESOME!

I got Red Dead Redemption Friday and it is great!

I recently discovered Last-Out, a faithful remake of the Amiga shoot 'em up Z-Out with upgraded graphics and music.

So I just finished two games on my PSP yesterday and today.

The first is GTA: Vice City Stories. The epic saga of Victor Vance comes to a stunning conclusion as he [spoil]seeks revenge for the death of his lover Louise at the hands of the Mendez brothers. The final skyscraper mission references every single action-movie cliche from Die Hard to True Lies to Infernal Affairs, as Vance makes his final stand. The entire story is full of dark irony, as he brilliantly sums up before the last mission:
“I’ve spent all my time running around making morons rich while my family fell apart and the woman I wanted died waiting for me to call.”[/spoil]
A bittersweet ending to one of my favourite PSP games of all-time.

The second is Loco-Roco. I believe I mentioned this a few posts back, but anyway, yeah, the final boss battle is epic. So many of our fine soldiers, sacrificed to defeat the baddest Moja of all. Let us honour the fallen… :stuck_out_tongue:
If you’re an obsessive-compulsive or perfectionist, do not play this game! I can’t believe the countless occasions I wanted to head-desk because I missed a berry or because my Loco-Roco hit a spike… a very frustrating but ultimately satisfying game for those tired of the usual shoot-em-ups/RPGs.

All I’ve been hearing lately is how incredible this game is! Good to know I made a smart decision buying it then  Haven’t gotten a chance to play it yet though, despite having bought it a few weeks back. My PS3 is up at my dad’s house, and I haven’t been there for a while cause we’re busy packing. can’t wait to start playing!

Did any of you guys go to E3?

Just started playing Puzzle Agent. I’m sure a lot of people haven’t heard of it, but it’s a point-and-click adventure game based on the Grickle series by Graham Annable. He’s a cartoonist who has done storyboard work on movies including Coraline. Anyways, the game plays really well, but the gameplay is really, really similar to Professor Layton, which is another great game. But what sets the game apart for me is the timing of events and jokes, the drawings, and environments. The whole thing has a hilariously creepy mood. It feels like you’re playing an animatic for an animated film. I recommend checking it out, it’s only about $10.

I just completed Year One of Lego Harry Potter. I would reccomend it to anyone, it is very fun and is the best Lego game yet.

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is coming out November 16th. I can’t wait!

There’s going to be another one, Tyler1885? I haven’t even got round to doing the second one yet!

A friend of mine has leant me the most recent Ratchet and Clank minigame, though I can’t believe Clank doesn’t actually feature in it! Clank has to be one of my favourite video game characters of all time (alongside Rayman, of course) and he really is one of the main reasons why I play Ratchet and Clank in the first place. Still, it looks like a good game.

Wow, another Assassin’s Creed game already? I hope it lives up to the hype. Hey, guess what guys! Fallout: New Vegas is coming out in October    Can’t wait to guzzle down some more Ice Cold Nuka-Cola

It’s continuing right after the second. Ubisoft probably had it planned out a while for Assassin’s Creed II and it’s sequel to be released a year apart.

I can’t say I’m a fan of the series, I’ve never played any of the games before. It does sound like something I would like though, so maybe I should look into it. Problem is, I don’t really have the time to finish all these games :stuck_out_tongue: I’m still only half-way done Mass Effect and Half Life 2, and I have to finish Fallout 3 on evil. Plus, I haven’t even started Red Dead Redemption yet… I’d better get on that.

I like some old video games Pacman, ms. Pacman, Frogger, Dig Dug, Donkey Kong, Jr. Donkey Kong and ladyBug

My brother’s looking forward to it. He showed me the trailer and while I was impressed, I asked why didn’t the hero just do all the nasty work like in the first two games’ trailers instead of counting on ‘cheat snipers’? :stuck_out_tongue:

Isn’t he the little fellow with the Brit accent? I want to play Secret Agent Clank on the PSP, looks like fun!

My bro’s looking forward to this, too. He lent me Lego Batman and Lego Indiana Jones for my PSP and I’m lovin’ 'em both so far! Completed the ‘Riddler’s Revenge’ and ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ stories so far.

The playable character Ezio is now the Grand Master Assassin which means he is the leader. If he wants backup he’s getting it.

Fairy 'nuff. Thanks for clearing that up. Though I still think it’s cooler if he was a one-man army.

I like all the GTA games  and the Call of Dutys <3

The Need for Speed franchise has been criticized for getting too generic, too ‘try-hard-cool’, and too ‘identity-confused’, among other things. After a string of mediocre installments (with the possible exception of Shift), the most recent one, Need for Speed World, being a re-rendered Most Wanted and Carbon MMOR with Mario-Kart power-ups, it’s almost safe to say Need for Speed has lost its mojo.

So it is with great surprise I watched the trailer for their next game, ‘Need for Speed Hot Pursuit’. The title is a bit lazy (like Fast & Furious, or The Final Destination), and it is essentially a reimagining of HP2 with open-world environments, but I was blown away. THIS is the game fans have been waiting for: Exotic supercars evading tough speed-enforcers down unbelievably spectacular routes.

I’ve been a longtime fan of NFS3:HP and HP2, so I’m very pleased they’ve finally listened and taken it back to its roots. No emphasis on superficial-customization, no cheesy undercover-cop storyline, no urban environments with terrible rap music playing in the background, no yobbo-ish ricers (well, I do hope they include good imports like Furais and GT-Rs for this), none of that BS… Just straight-up racing and chasing, like the original series pre-Underground. I would have liked for there to be individual tracks all over the world, like in Porsche 2000 or any of the pre-Underground titles, but the E3 demo screenshots do have some remarkable scenery.

The new Autolog player-matchup system also sounds pretty sophisticated (this was created by the folks at Criterion who did Burnout Revenge, another favourite game I played). And there’s also damage-modeling a la Pro Street and Shift! This could be quite possibly be the best NFS since Most Wanted, and along with TDU2 and DriverSF coming out this fall, there’ll be a whole lot of gaming goodness to be had for the year-end holidays!

E3 Reveal Trailer (A much better use of a ‘30 Second to Mars’ number than 'Legend of the Guardians)

EA Press Conference (Skip to 2:07)
Listen to his line and watch the on-screen images at 2:46. Hallelujah!

The release line reads “16 November 2010.” Kudos Criterion!

Any NFS fans here?
