I have been playing a lot LOTRO, ever since they switched from a pure subscription-based model to free-2-play/pay-2-play hybrid.
So far it’s a classic win/win - Turbine managed to triple their revenue and you can now play the game without paying a dime.
Everyone who likes RPGs and/or the works of Tolkien should definitely check it out.
The game looks great, it doesn’t have outlandish hardware requirements, and the community is very friendly compared to some other online games (Warcraft 3, I’m looking at you…).
I play City of Heroes and Anarchy Online mostly. Currently waiting on Mass Effect 3 to come out - hopefully it should be just as epic as the last 2 were.
Just thought I’d ask everyone, what is the worst game you’ve played in your life?
Worst game I’ve ever played…?
I think the winner has to be some knock off of the Nintendo Dogs game, but with Hamsters. Although, I’ve never played it, I suffered with my sister while she did.
Other than those types of games, I haven’t come across anything too horrid.
Worst game? Now that’s something… well, I’ve never been too keen on first person shooters but that’s just me. I also tend to dislike video games based on movies, though.
There are a couple games that come to mind when I read your question, Geoff.
The first one that came to mind was a game for the Nintendo GameCube called “Super Bubble Pop.” It was the dumbest game I have ever played. Seriously.
The other lame game I played was Tarzan: Untamed for GameCube. The graphics are terrible, and the gameplay is not that fun. We only got it because my brother at the time was totally into the movie, and we had to get everything Tarzan related.
The only other game I can think of (that I hated playing) was The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. I hated that game when I was little because it gave me nightmares. I haven’t played it since.
And your post makes me happy, Badger - I hate 1st-person shooter games as well. They are completely pointless to me, and I don’t understand what makes them awesome, either.
Majora’s Mask really is a fantastic game, but I can fully understand not enjoying it or being freaked out by it. The first time I played it, I basically ran around panicking all three days then watched in horror as the moon burned into Clock Town… It’s indeed disturbing. I really need to buy it someday, though
One of the worst games I’ve played is probably Powerpuff Girls on the N64. My sister beat it in a day when she was only four, and we asked to return it (and got the original Super Smash Bros. instead, a good choice ). The Gameboy Nickelodeon games were just poorly designed, even if they are nostalgic.
Haha, I was also scared of Twilight Princess, even though it came out in 2006 (I think?). I guess I’m just not a Zelda person. And, oh my gosh, the moon scared the poopies out of me when I watched my friend play it.
Somehow, you just reminded me of another lame game I played. It was a Dora the Explorer game for the Gameboy Advanced and I have no idea why I was playing it. Along with a Rugrats game for the 64 that I played around the same time.
There was also this Disney Princess game (for Wii) that my younger cousin wanted me to play, and it was sooo boring. All you had to do was dress up your avatar and walk around a castle talking to the different princesses.
Awesome, Chuckles. Yeah, while FPS isn’t exactly my preferred gaming genre, I’m fairly open-minded and I’m willing to play anything creative. There’s a lot more with the genre you can do than people think.
Anyone play Minecraft?
I am a diehard fan of The Legend of Zelda
Can’t wait for:
Zelda Skyward Sword (Wii)
Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D (N3DS)
Me two, I still have the orignal OoT.
for the 64, me too, I will purchase all the remakes that Nintendo decides to release about Zelda , that game is superb, I haven’t played OoT for a year, now I’m starting the wind waker again
Im not gonna get a 3DS when it comes out, Im gonna let the price drop first. I also wanna get the new Paper Mario game for it. Unlike the 3ed one, this one will go back to it’s original fighting mode.
I’m gonna get a 3DS at launch, but only because I can get it for 50% off by trading in my old DSes at Gamestop. $250 is a really iffy price for me, and I would definitely wait otherwise.
I just bought a DSi a little while ago but if I had known about the 3DS I might have waited. BUT my old DSlite was falling to pieces so I basically had to get a new one and I didn’t wanna wait.
yeah, I got your point, the 3DS will be able to read your DS games
Minecraft FTW. I dont have the full game(yet) I just play classic right now.
I haven’t palyed a lot of video games in a while. I guess taht is the consequences of growing up. I miss it, and won’t hesitate to play if another opportunity comes up.
