I don’t play a lot of video games anymore due to my bust schedule, but I will play with my roomate when he invites me to.

As long as King K. Rool, Dixie Kong, and Krystal from Star Fox are in it as a playable characters it’s okay with me!

Bit a long post but I will get this on here. I don’t play video games much anymore. Not that I stopped, its just that video games nowadays to me are a hit and miss. I prefer the old video games(NES, Sega, SNES, n64, PS1). I am a platformer gamer. Like games like Sonic, Mario, Crash Bandicoot, even platform games like Banjo Kazzoie and Conker’s Bad fur day(Love this one. Its like a middle finger to all the kiddy stuff that I hate lol). At times I’m more into the other genres of games. Like RPG(Super Mario RPG, FFVII, Chrono trigger), Point and Click(Monkey island, Leisure Suit Larry, Sam and Max, Full Throttle, Discworld: mortality bites, and Grim Fandango), and First Person Shooter(Bioshock and Doom).
I am just annoyed with the video game industry now. One thing for certain is that I’m annoyed that most people are saying that graphics make the game. Video games to me aren’t just about the graphics. To me, video games are about these things. Story, a great cast of characters, great gameplay, good music, and having fun. Now its all about money and graphics. Most of this comes from people who just obsessed with first person shooter games. I may be into one First Person Shooter game, but I shouldn’t be stating that a game should be just about the graphics. Not everything can work with graphics being so real it can make Zemeckis’s motion capture films look like live-action movies. One of the few FPS games I was willing to enjoy was Bioshock and Doom.
Most of the games I have enjoyed now have turned the tables and their fans have made me lose the interest in them. I know for the fact that this happened with Sonic the Hedgehog, Final Fantasy, and Kingdom Hearts fall into this. Sonic fans wouldn’t stop complaining about the fact that the choices that Sega made for sonic are pointless. All they do is nag and complain to death on whatever the heck Sega does with this hedgehog. Now for one thing, some changes are good while others are not. The positive things about some of today’s Sonic games are the music. I can’t comment about Sonic Colors because I have no interest in it. The only game that I would have said was good for Sonic is Sonic Unleashed. But in all seriousness, they should stop complaining about the littlest things of life.
Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts suffer a messed up fanbase that is worse than being forced to see a movie that you hate with a passion. The only title in the Final Fantasy series is Final Fantasy 7. It means a lot to me, because it was one of the very first few games that I got to play with my older brother as a teenager. It also introduced me to the RPG genre. Kingdom Hearts is something I hate for focusing on other characters and having the Disney and Square characters take a backseat to these uninteresting characters. But I will say both series (kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy) have great music.
I hnate it whenpeople say Mario and Link suck. Just because their’s not alot of blood, violance, and language. Thay also gate it because of the graphics. Graphic’s don’t make up a game, they are important but what’s also important is music, character develment, story, and gameplay. without mario, video game’s would be very diffrent today.
A few weeks ago I purchased myself a PS3. I’ve been enjoying Demon’s Souls quite a bit and might purchase Dark Souls at a later date. Gran Turismo 5 has been occupying me for some time now also, but I think it’s about time I turned more of the assists off. It’s not fair to the other virtual drivers. they’re handicapped enough, being only able to drive pretty much the same way every race.
I’ve bought some other games but I haven’t put in nearly as much hours into them as I have these two.
I played a demo of Super Mario 3D Land yesterday, it seems really awesome. Right now I’m playing LBP2 and waiting for Uncharted 3 to come out 
my brother may get a PS3 for Christmas.
