What’s your
favourite voice? I’m totally swept away by Sally’s voice. I dunno, I seem to ‘fall in love’ with her voice
especially when she says “Don’t you big city racecars take a drive?”

Gotta give it up to my man Mater, his laugh just won me
over. ![]()
Mater. Larry the Cable Guy was simply the perfect voice for him. ![]()
But I also
liked Luigi and Guido’s voices.
Mater definitely does it for me, but
I also like how Doc Hudson’s voice really does sort of teem with wisdom. It really suits him.
It’s hard for me to choose. Lightning and Mater were so funny. Sally and Doc was powerful. I love the cars of
Radiator Springs. They were all so unique.
I think I’d have to go with Doc. Paul Newman was
perfect for that role. I don’t know quite how to explain it… his voice is so full of experience, it makes his
advice very credible… even if McQueen doesn’t see it at first.
The voice Bonnie Hunt gave Sally was
very sweet. And Mater’s voice is so funny!
Then, of course, there is Guido, who always sounds so
adorable… <3
gotta go with doc . Newman’s voice is rough
like the road (had to use that symaly) so it goes great with doc . filmore’s is cool too since it really does
sound like a hippie .
I luv Mater’s voice!!! He’s just so funnie

Took the words right out of my mouth, BandGeek727.

Yes, Doc Hudson does it for me, as well. He reminds me of an old grandfather that I never knew – that
soft and mysterious voice and that solid expression…
Sally’s voice is honeydew sweet; Bonnie Hunt was
absolutely perfect for the role.
And Luigi and Guido make a fantastic impression with their Italian
dialects.
It’s all one big happy family of engaging characters and wonderful voice actors. ![]()
Among the many quality voices, I really like Lightning, Sally, Mater, Fillmore, Luigi, and Chick the
most.
Lightning - Owen Wilson just exudes youth and exuberance, and he can convince you that Lightning
really has no clue how valuable his time in Radiator Springs will turn out to be. "I’m turning into one of
them!"
Sally - it’s the softness of her voice. It’s not the humor that
Bonnie Hunt usually has, not close to how she was in A Bug’s Life, but that’s what’s so great about it. The
whole awkward “you have your own cozy cone, and I’ll be in my cozy cone” and the hearfelt part up on
the bluff at the Wheel Well that did it for me. Bonnie absolutely nailed it. "Cars didn’t drive on it to
make great time. They drove on it to have a great time."
Mater - Larry the Cable Guy has that lovable
goofiness to his voice, and at the same time, he can be so sweet. "I knowed I made a good
choice…"
Fillmore - I love George Carlin (when he’s not as offensive as he’s known to be). I just
love his voice and style. He played Fillmore off as more than just a stereotypical hippie. "Respect the
classics, man!"
Luigi - Tony Shalhoub has to be one of the best funny men ever. And it’s because
he’s not over-the-top like all the other comic actors. He can play it so straight (note his awesomeness in
Galaxy Quest), and with all the accents he can do… I used to think he was Italian,
because I had only seen him on Wings as Antonio. "I must scream it to the
world, my excitement from the top of someplace very high!"
Chick - he’s so smarmy and arrogant!
Kudos to Michael Keaton - he did it so well. Makes me want to smack some good sense into that engine of his.
He’s the embodiment of what Lightning could have turned into had he not become stranded in Radiator Springs.
"Hey, McQueen, that must be really embarrassing. But I wouldn’t worry about it… because I didn’t do
it!"
I think all the Cars voices fit them really well. My fav ones are Doc’s, Luigi &
Guido’s, and Fillmore’s. But like I said, I think all of them fit the cars personalities…
That’s what I love about Pixar*. They strive
to find the perfect voice for their characters, even if they’re not hiring A-List celebrities. That said, they
can also rework the character slightly to fit the voice better. They did this for Slinky Dog and Jim
Varney.
Cars-wise, I enjoy Tony Shalboub, with his over-the-top passion,
Michael Keaton, with his jerkdom, and Paul Newman, with his rough yet soft, no-nonsense ways. I will oppose all
sequels proposed without the involvement of these actors. And all the others, of
course.

You’re so right there- an animated film with
an all-star cast is just uncessecary, and kind of proves that the film itself, without the cast, would be weak.
The Pixar characters all have the right voices, so to speak, so they all seem more real.
