WALL•E coming to Blu-ray and DVD on November 18th

http://www.bluraymods.com/ sell modifications for various BD players and modded versions of some players which can play all DVD and BD regions.
Of course they are a bit more expensive than the vanilla versions…

But who knows, next year various Chinese players will finally hit the market, and hopefully they will be a bit more easily “hackable” than the currently available BD players.

I’m super-excited about this, cause November 18 is my birthday!!!

mine is Nov 3rd so its really close to mine as well. Hoping for the dvd for christmas…

Hey guys I don’t know if this has been shared yet but I thought I’d give everyone a head’s up.

I work at the Disney Store now and starting today we’re selling pre-orders of WALL-E. With the pre-order you get a set of free lithographs and a 15% off coupon for use in the store (only good on merchandising and clothing, not media or park tickets, etc.)

Pre-order for WALL-E on DVD is about $20. Blu-Rey 2-Disc special edition is about $30 I believe? Or is it $40? Whatever, it’s in that range.

SADLY, THE DISNEY STORE IS NOT SELLING THE SUPER SPECIAL AWESOME 3-DISC EDITION, so don’t waltz into your local Disney Store and walk out disappointed! If you want the three disc, pre-order elsewhere (not sure who is selling it, but shop around).

If any of you are in Washington state you should come buy it from me. ;D

Thanks totoro and Irongiant. Yeah, I still have no plans to adopt bluray, but interesting to know about the mods…

The 3-Disc will only be sold at Walmart.

Hog-Hug: Thanks for letting us know, I think I’ll be heading to the Disney Store sometime really soon.
Update: I just got them, they’re larger than usual and the folder comes with a game!

TS2,
That’s not true at all. The 3-disc set will be available everywhere.

Here’s a link for it for sale at Amazon (where I preordered it myself):

Here’s a link for it over at DeepDiscountDVD.com:

Every major DVD retailer/store will sell it (maybe not some small little shops, but every major retailer will be selling it).

Does anybody know when the DVD and BR are being released in Australia?

PPP - I’d say sometime in late January/early February. But personally, I’m going to order the US 3-disc (normal) DVD as soon as it hits eBay from November 22nd. No waiting for 2+ months for me!

I didn’t even know until last week that there was going to be a 2 (3) disc DVD! To quote the Haunted Mansion Ghost Host, (yeah I’m on a Haunted Mansion kick) perhaps Pixar has “received my sympathetic vibrations”. This is great! I’m so glad there’ll be 2 discs! I’ve missed them!

I preordered the 3 Disc DVD finally! I’m so excited! I’m just worried it won’t get here right on the 18th…

That’s why I bought the 1 disc DVD at The Disney Store and got my lithographs, I also pre-ordered the 3 disc Blu-ray online, so if it comes in the mail the 18th, I return the 1 disc DVD pre-order, and if not, I don’t miss a second of WALL-E action!
Proof I’m a crazy Pixar fan!

These last few days I’ve been going insane. The days are going slower. I’ve been counting down the days for about 5 weeks and we still got 3 more to go.

Yeah, I have to admit, after seeing WALL-E in the cinema for the last time, I thought I’d had my fill of Pixar goodness, but now it’s been a while, I’m starting to get really desperate about seeing it again. Darn you, Pixar, and your addictive films!

I’ll have the Blu-Ray on Friday! I’m madly in love with Pixar movies and will be watching this one over and over aga.

I know what you mean Newt…pixar lover here too…

So did you enjoy Walle as much as i did??

I’m in the UK and have a multi-region DVD player - does anyone know the differences between the Region 1 WALL-E Collector’s Edition (3 discs) and the Region 2 Collector’s Edition (2 discs)?

Thanks.

they’re almost identical. The third disc is simply a digital copy for computers and ipod.

The featurette “WALL-E’s Tour of the Universe” is missing from the european version, but the “Geek-o-rama” should be a european exclusive (45secs preview on Amazon.co.uk).
Also ““Lots of Bots” storybook” should be missing from the region 2 edition.

In the Blu-ray edition the BD-Live feature is U.S. only.

This is the official list of the features: WALL·E | Disney Movies

Very many thanks. Now, do I buy the Region 1 or the Region 2 …
