I’m issuing a BOLO (Be On the Look Out).

I was watching Star Trek Voyager on Spike TV circa 4PM EDT this afternoon on Dish Satellite TV and happened acrosss an interesting commercial. I wasn’t paying attention as I was tending to my kid brother at the moment but the commercial was about a high performance oil of some sort. Suddenly my eye however yas caught by a small robot on treads with very familiar and unmistakeable binocular-like eyes. It was fairly quick as the commercial was near the end and he was chased off by a man that looked kinda like Bruce Willis from what glimpse I got of him (I was still partly distracted by my brother and didn’t have my glasses on). Any way - according to the tail end of the commercial the product advertised was either Quaker State or PennzOil and it made a note that it’s “available at Wal-Mart.” I’m almost 90% possitive that the robot was WALL*E though even if it wasn’t stated. And I know it’s ludicrously early for any real advertising but I also know Pixar has advertised with Quaker State in the past at Wal-Mart (giving away a diecast car in a box of oil).

Anyway - I watched that channel for a couple of hours more but it never reaired and so far I haven’t found it online so everyone keep your eyes out for WALL*E or a mysterious look alike in this commercial.

Huh, now that’s interesting!

Maybe it’s some sort of glimpse to an upcoming advertising campaign from Pixar and one of the aforementioned companies?

Wow, that sounds cool! I don’t have that channel, unfortunately, but if anyone else catches that I’d be interested to hear what they say. It is, of course, very early for any proper advertising, but something on this kind of scale is definitely a possibility.

Oh, how cool! I can’t wait till all these WALL-E commercials like Ratatouille had.

It was on Spike? Heh – wow. I’ll definitely have to keep a look out for it now, as I watch Spike TV every now and then. (Yeah, I watch the guys’ station. I’m a tomboy. :stuck_out_tongue: )

Dash - A few days ago I saw a little bit of this PennzOil commercial you are talking about and I saw those binocular-like eyes and part of his body and I was like “That’s WALL-E!”. I’m not sure if it was WALL-E but it sure looked like him. :slight_smile:
