Take it from me. Best Buy is the place to go this year.

Happy hunting!

Ooh, such cool free products! The WALL-E sunglasses sound especially cool. :sunglasses:

I’ll add to this list with an HMV exclusive for those in the UK- I think it’s only if you pre-order the DVD, but you get these very cool WALL-E postcards free with the Special Edition DVD- HMV But unfortunately, that’s all I’ve seen so far in terms of little extras that come with the DVD if you buy in certain shops. I swear there was more stuff for Ratatouille last year.

Thanks for those PV, I already pre-ordered but this should be really helpful for those who didn’t!

The nearest Best Buy is like, 200 miles away. I work at Wal-Mart, so that’ll have to do.

I’ll just wait till my friend gets it … but if he doesn’t get it, I’ll probably go to BJ’s, though I doubt they have any sort of discount. :stuck_out_tongue: Costco either.

Yeah… I think the Ratatouille DVD deals were the best last year. Especially the apron. The “puzzle cube” looks cute, but I already have a similar one. I like the idea of sending out a seed - you could plant it in an old boot! But that might break custom regulations if I were to have it sent to me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks PixarVixen!

Nuts. Nothing that good really. At least you don’t have to choose between special feature CDs though like for Ratatouille and Cars.

Thank you very much for the info! It’s to bad that no ones having an extra disc, or a steel case. Does anyone know what promotion Wal-Mart might be doing?

You’re welcome, guys! These are probably my favorite things to report here.

As I recall, Circuit City offered the Ratatouille apron, but they failed to offer anything for WALL•E. The store in my area recently filed for bankruptcy, and apparently the company is falling apart.

R2-D2 - Pre-ordering WALL•E wasn’t a possibility with the addition of Blu-ray since the last Pixar film DVD release. I can’t know which version to pre-order without knowing who will participate, which type of players they own, and to top it all off, who will win. Blu-ray threw me for a loop. o_0

Unfortunately, I will be the one purchasing the winner’s prize. I want the puzzle cube for myself, meaning I will be limited 1 puzzle cube. However, if the winner still seeks the puzzle cube, they must reply as soon as they receive my notification email. BestBuy.com will be none the wiser. Heehee.

R2-D2, I edited my post to answer your question, although you edited yours too.

And I listed Walmart above.

Sorry about that. I didn’t notice Wal-Mart listed above. I guess I just didn’t read it that closely. It’s too bad that they aren’t having an extra disc like they did with Cars and Ratatouille.

The idea of the release of the 3-disc DVD most likely canceled those out . Perhaps Pixar detected discontent from fans.

Keep a lookout for whatever Target releases. I did refer to it as the “exclusive edition”.

The Cars and Ratatouille DVDs didn’t really have any extra features on them anyway, as Disney was trying to help Blu-Ray complete with HD-DVD.

Any Blockbuster exclusive info? They had a nice tin for Cars.

I’ve already pre-ordered mine over the net… though I must say, I like the idea of the tree sapling from Target (there’s a picture of it in the ad today). Nice touch that matches the movie.

By the way, I was surprised to see a full-page color ad f or Wall-E in today’s LA Times. Why? Because it wasn’t in the for sale area. Instead, the ad was in the Calendar (movies) section, and while it mentions in passing that it’s coming out on video this week, most of the ad was devoted to talking about it being the best reviewed film of the year… with a “for your consideration” at the bottom (remember, most Academy voters live in LA here). I don’t have it in front of me right now, but I smiled when I saw it earlier today. The fact that it’s coming out on video this week was used only to remind Academy voters about the movie, with a big full-page color ad…

Here is my WALL•E puzzle cube from Best Buy:

It is packed in a nice wittle box. ;-p

I searched the store for a minute and found 0 puzzle cubes, and yet I was the first customer to enter. The employee I approached realized the puzzle cubes hadn’t been arranged. He checked the stock room and returned to hand me the very first puzzle cube. Woo!

The DVDs/Blu-rays at Target don’t come with bonus discs. The seedling code is inside the front sticker.

Oh, and I guess I was wrong about Toys R Us. They are offering WALL•E water bottles. I’ll try to take a photo of the display later.

That puzzle cube is so cool, PV! What are the different pictures of?

The puzzle cube appears to be graced with [i:or5fk6az]WALL•E[/i:or5fk6az] poster images and such.

I managed to take a photo of the [i:or5fk6az]WALL•E[/i:or5fk6az] water bottle pictured on the DVD/Blu-ray display at Toys R Us:

Can you say lame•O? :-\ I expected better, especially from a store called [u:or5fk6az]Toys[/u:or5fk6az] R Us.

And I wanted to show you guys the display at Best Buy:

If the life-size 3-dimensional cardboard cutout WALL•E doesn’t grab the attention of passing shoppers, the robot rattle triggered by his motion sensor will. Heheh.

Encouraging the use of reusable water bottles with tap water instead of bottled water fits with the WALL-E theme, though. I don’t know how good the water bottles are, but I love sporting my non-WALL-E reusable bottle around.

I haven’t bought the DVD yet because of school, does anybody know if you have to pay shipping for the plant that comes with the Target DVD? If not, then I’m getting it at Target!

I actually like that water bottle… it’s cute. But I’m a sucker for anything with just the WALL•E logo on it. We have that 3D display at TRU, too, except it’s not motion-sensitive, but it does have red lights in its eyes, which makes zero sense to anyone who’s actually seen the movie. Heh.

I think the WALL-E water bottle should be in the shape of EVE. Even though drinking water out of her head might be a bit unnerving…Unless they turned her arm cannon into a sort of water spray gun. Though I agree with the sentiment that TheIncredible pointed out.

That display is awesome, PV! And it has a motion sensor? Hopefully he doesn’t scare all the little kids away.
