Wall-E fanart

If we ever go to a convention we will be sure to.
We have members from California to Maine, Australia to England and everywhere in between so getting all of them together in one place may be difficult.

PS. Here is the latest photo of Neils progress.

I never cease to be amazed by this group! The rust on that WALL-E looks absolutely incredible, and the eyes are just perfect.

Glad you like what you see.

Here is another update photo:

Stay tuned.

Neil made some more progress on his 1/2 scale WALL-E (The more I look at it though I think it’s full scale compaired to the Rubik’s Cube.) and I thought I would share them with you.

Whoa. Talk about awesomeness in art! That’s really really really cool, it looks pretty much flawless, it looks real.

Thanks dot-dasher.
I will forward the compliment to Neil.

He used the dimensional drawings we have on the Original WALL-E Builders Club on Yahoo Groups.
I love what he did to weather him.
Neil used iron filler putty and vinegar.

It produces real rust.

You should see all the other WALL-E replicas our members are working on.
I have posted a few others here but all the rest would take forever to post.

Scot

PS. dot-dasher…are you a HAM Radio operator?
Your name sounds like you know Morse Code.

Real rust? Wow, that WALL-E is especially authentic then! There really doesn’t seem to be a single inaccurate feature of this latest model. Superb work.

Thank you.
Stay tuned for further updates.
Or come and join the fun over on the WALL-E Builders Club.

Ohio_Astromech - It’s projects such as this that redefine the meaning of “impeccable”…

Magnificent work. Absolutely fantastic.

Thank you.

…if that Wall-E disappears, don’t worry. I probably just abducted him.

SERIOUSLY. Those are beyond amazing. Superbly done!

This is truly amazing! Outstanding work!

Thanks guys.
I may have something new to show in a couple days.
We just had a new set of photos posted by a new member.

Neils’ WALL-E has arms.

He recently got back from his honeymoon and was able to send us this update.

Also another member named Zack posted a photo of his build.

I hope you enjoy the photos.

I don’t know the height of the WALL-E, but looking at the second picture, I thought he was life-sized. Really cool. He looks so cute too.

What a terrific update…I also especially like the second pic with the 2 WALL-Es. Nice…I wonder how it’s accomplished. It’s amazing, I mean, it takes a lot of time, patience, planning, and perseverence to get that done.

That’s incredible! :open_mouth: How’d you guys do that?

If you hang out with these guys long enough and ask questions you will be able to do it to.

I started hanging out with the R2 Builders back in 2002 and quite a bit has rubbed off.

Many of our members came from the R2 Builders nad the Replica Prop Forum (RPF).

Some are professionals like Neil who’s WALL-E is featured on our front page right now.
Others like Max come from Hollywood and are special effects artist.
Max made the armor seen in Starship Troopers.
