I had a fun idea just a couple minutes ago, it was inspired by some of rachelcakes’ avvies that I saw a while back. :wink:

So here it is… I’m going to post up some random shots from WALL•E, and the first one to guess correctly what the pictures are will receive a random prize from a list (that I’ll put down here somewhere…). Here are the “rules”…

-You win if you can guess one of the following:

  1. The location of the picture
  2. The scene the picture belongs to
  3. A staple line from the scene (if any)
  4. Characters that may be in the scene but are excluded from the picture

-You can pick one of these random prizes:

  1. The full-sized screencap the picture came from
  2. A custom avvie or siggy
  3. A requested screencap from the movie!!!

Anyways, here’s the first set. Hope they’re hard enough. :wink:

Location: Earth, near the monorail track
Scene: WALL•E going home after his work day
Line: BnL starliners, leaving each day. We’ll clean up the mess while you’re away!

You saw my avvies but didn’t comment? D= Well, it’s good to know my graphics have inspired this challenging game, anyway. I’ll put my answers in spoiler tags so others don’t get spoiled:

[spoil]1. At the beginning during the 2815 AD sequence. I think it’s the BnL Bank.
2. When WALL•E is waiting for EVE and the guards are standing around, or maybe just before that when they are hiding from the guards.
3. The garbage chute, just before WALL•E comes up it with the plant on his head.
4. The garbage when WALL•E is at work.
5. I know that’s a screen that the Captain uses… when exactly it is, I have no idea.[/spoil]

Quotes from those scenes? The movie doesn’t have that many… :slight_smile:

Answers! There’s only one that I’m not really all that confident in, I think the rest are right.

1) Beginning, WALL-E’s day at work opening sequence. The buildings in the background.
2) On The Axiom after the Spacewalk, when WALL-E and EVE are at the towel rack.
3) I’m taking a totally wild guess here, one of WALL-E’s shelves during the sequence where we’re introduced to his trucks? Or rather,a portion of one of his shelves?
4) A trash heap that WALL-E is picking through.
5) During the self-destruct sequence in the Escape Pod, this is the screen where the coutndown is displayed during the self-destruct sequence.

Anyways, to announce the winners… (I’m going to end this set since most of them were guessed)!!! Just a note: if you are the first to guess correctly, you win! So here we go:

After looking at the pics a little more, I think I got some more.
[spoil]2) This looks like the scene when Wall-E meets the typing bot and teaches it to wave.
4) This looks like the room where Wall-E boarded the escape pod and GO-4 came and sent the pod out to space to explode.
5) This looks like when the captain tells Auto “We are going home TODAY!”
6) This appears to be the scene when the humans are exiting the Axiom on earth.[/spoil]

Congratulations to mo - who basically guessed everything except for #3 and #5!!!

Here are the answers…

#1 - the room where the EVE probes are cleaned - right after WALL•E leaves and M-O is contemplating on whether or not to leave the light track.

#2 - The floor of the Bridge Lobby - where the Typing Bot is stationed

#3 - The ceiling of the monorail - you can see the top of a gel person’s head

#4 - The service airlock EVE uses to chase after WALL•E’s pod

#5 - Captain McCrea on the floor right after AUTO jams his taser into the Holo-Detector button

#6 - The humans deboarding the Axiom after returning to Earth

Yep, hard indeed. These are my only definite answers:


1: EVE slumped down next to the anchor after blowing the ships up.
4: EVE in the captain’s deck, another device clamping on her to retrieve the plant.

2/6 at most. As an avid WALL-E fan, I am ashamed. :blush:

Hey well since this game didn’t get a lot of response this time around, I’m gonna close Round Three. Here are the answers (I’ll list the winners after. Remember… the first one to guess correctly…!)…

#1: EVE blowing up ships in the shipyard

#2: The back of a Steward bot - John after WALL•E puts him back on his hoverchair (that was a REALLY hard one)

#3: During Morning Announcements - just below one of several of the huge screens

#4: On the Bridge - when WALL•E and EVE are looking for the plant

#5: Inside the Escape Pod - just after GO-4 drops the boot in it

#6: A window of the Bridge looking out onto the Lido Deck - right as AUTO is about to attack McCrea with his taser

Aww geez… these ones were REALLY hard this time around… :blush: I’ll try and look for some better ones next time. :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyways, since these ones were harder and since my two participants guessed close enough to the actual answers, I’m gonna say they both won. :smiley: So congrats to Netbug009 and wayne for playing Round Three! PM me regarding your “prize”… seriously, that’s my favorite part of this game… :laughing:

Great job, guys! As for Round Four, I don’t know if I want to wait to do it or what, seeing as how this thread lost a lot of attention recently. Eventually, I want to start one of these over in the Ratatouille section, but I’ll have to see how well this one does first. If we can do ten rounds, at least, I’ll feel good about it. :stuck_out_tongue:
