WALL-E Plot

Maybe he comes from a planet outside of our solar system. To him, Earth

would of course be outer space.

You all have wonderful plot-lines and ideas that work beautifully with/in the feature film. Keep it going!

JV - I agree with the fact that a “robot looking for a home” is more appealing – to you and I, at least – than a “robots-in-love” plot. However, we only have rumors as information so far, so anything goes for the time being.

Gasduude - Thank you for the compliment.

Yeah, that would be pretty awesome.

It will be cool to see

the wizards of Pixar create these alien enviroments.

Did anybody else see Alien

Planet on discovery channel?

It was a computer animated documentary that followed these

future probes into a far away solar system. Anyway, the enviroments on this planet they were on were simply

amazing!

I also have thought of another ossible plot. A little robot trying to find purpose and meaning in his life.

He doesn’t want to be an insignificant robot. Just a theory.

The Star

Swordsman - Yes – that is a plausible theory. It sure fits with his pitiful expression. (snigger)

You may be right…

Due to his apparent “shortness”, he may feel rather diminuative and

insignificant, as you stated. Perhaps his true intention is to find a friend who will accept him for who he

is?

Or he

could be trying for find his creator/family.

Did you guys ever think that WALL? E could be a Planet and not a Robot?

I like the whole “Earth is Outer Space” to him, what if, back at his home planet,

it’s all cold and robot-like (duh) then when he comes to earth he’s baffled by the humans, and all the

stuff they do (like being kind to each other, having fun ect.)

Well no, because Bob Iger wrote : "And I’m please

to give you an exclusive first look at the title character of their next movie,

WALL? E (pictured here), which will be released the following year."

I

think we can say it’s a pretty reliable source.

JV - I have to agree with Archibald on this, in that

WALLE-E is, indeed, the little robot we saw in the provided picture. It was a cool idea, though.

I’ve

heard rumors that the film will be entirely dialogue-free. I’m kind of hoping that rumor is true.

I don’t. And if it

is gonna be dialogue free, won’t it be kinda boring? I think you have to at least balance talking and sound

effects, and music.

The Star Swordsman - Someone on these boards mentioned a few films and shows that

ran without hardly any dialogue, the Charlie Chaplan films being one of them.

Despite the lack of words, the films were incredible charming, captivating, and down-right hilarious.

If

people back then can do it, why can’t Pixar? Besides, I think it would be kind of a cool idea. We would be able

to see how far they can push the boundries in a “speech impedimented” film. This probably won’t be the

case, however – there will, more than likely, be some dialogue in WALL-E. But…you never know. I’d watch it

either way.

But almost all of Pixar’s Feature Films have dialoge in it. I don’t want them to

break their tradition.

The

Star Swordsman - They wouldn’t have to. They could just do it one time and then never do it

again, if they wanted to. You don’t know if you’ll like it until you try it.

I still hope for dialouge. I mean,

there can be places in the film where they won’t have to speak, but only use sound effects. If there isn’t a

lot of talking for at least one hour, people will get bored.

It would be interesting to have Pixar do a

dialogue free film.
But I still hope they don’t. I’d still see it, but it seems like everyone would be

bored very quickly.

However, there is some evidence that

Wall-E is mute. Gary Rydstrom, I believe, is a big fan of dialogue free films.

And he’s directing Lifted.

The

Star Swordsman - Well, we’ll see what happens. The final result is all up to the producer and

director of the film, so anything goes at this moment. I also hope that there will be at least

some dialogue in the feature, although I really couldn’t care less…either way.

Like I said, we’ll just have to be patient and wait until we know a little bit more about this

film.

In every story, there is

a conflict. What do you all think the conflict will present in? Man vs Man, Nature, or Self?

The Star Swordsman - From the looks (and sounds) of it, the plot

will focus around a “man vs. self” conflict. According to the picture, WALL-E looks rather troubled

about something – of course, this could be a number of things: internal/mental conflict; family problems;

intimidating environment…

However, since the rumors floating around dictate that WALL-E is about a

robot searching for a new home, this seems to indicate that a “man vs. self” conflict will present

itself here. (Ie., he can’t find a home; others are forbidding/restricting him from settling down permanently;

etc.) It can be any number of things.

I

think it could have a hint of man vs man. I think Wall-E will have his own enemy/rival.
