WALL- E Poster!

The Star Swordsman - Eh, I just can’t seem to get over that feeling. Look at 'em! They’re freaky… :stuck_out_tongue: (snigger)

bawpcwpn - You mean Macs do have a collection of default wallpapers? I’m gonna have to find those…

Nice comparison, by the way. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what the reflection in his eyes is, although it looks more like he’s gazing up at the universal sky to me.

Mitch: You are starting to sound like my little brother now!

WALL-E’s got stars in his eyes…

Glad I’m not the only one who thinks so. It’s looks like he has irises and pupils and everything. But it’s cool how Pixar make you feel emotion just by looking at a character. I also love the attention to detail on him as well - like his chipped-away hands, and rusted body. It looks like he got hit with a baseball bat to his chest, though…

I agree- the poster does look very freaky, but that’s a good thing since if you put it up in a big public place, such as a cinema, it will catch people’s attention. The fact that it really doesn’t explain much is so intriguing.

rachel - Yeah, perhaps it’s the vast amount/array of detail on WALL-E himself that makes the overall poster rather intimidating, yet intriguing at the same time. And yep, you’re absolutely right as far as emotions go. The eyes are, in my opinion, the most important part of the body for displaying a wide range of emotions. Hand gestures and body movements help to add emphasis, of course, but it’s ultimately the eyes that tell the whole tale.

lizardgirl - Good point! I could see that poster hanging up in Coruscant somehwere…

I noticed this before but I don’t want to leave this “Anonymous” person un-credited, anywyas, somebody at Upcoming Pixar commented that WALL-E’s hands are in the cute pose from Ratatoulle. This was the pose that was suggested to make the rats more huggable and lovable looking where you position the arms near the chest. This was mentioned by Brad Bird (or somebody else on the Rat. crew) in the podcasts for Ratatouille. I think that’s interesting that they carried that through.

Here’s another poster of WALL-E from the DCA Art of Disney Animation building. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v647/dustysage/FridayVisions/2007/11-23-2007/CIMG2378.jpg
No, this is not a repeat of that exhibition, the poster has changed, here’s the link to the Animated News and Views forum I found it on.

Mods, feel free to delete this link (I’m aware of the no links to other forums etc. policy) but I just wanted to credit whoever took the pic. Also sorry for double posting, nobody posted in three days between me.

martini - that poster’s awesome! I really want to see an “online” version, though to see what it looks like without the glare. I also really want that little model of our robot friend.

martini - Haha! What a cute little poster! Too bad they evicted the other one from the premises, but I kind of like the new one a little more…I think…

Thank you for the link.

Hey everyone, today I went to the movies and saw a new WALL-E “poster”. Well actualy it’s a huge-sized cut-out, but either way it’s awesome.
Take a look:

His “chest” says Solar Charge Level. As you can see it was huge and stood upon a pedestal with the WALL-E logo and different angles of WALL-E’s silhoutte.
(Sorry, I’m kinda in the pic)
Bloggers please read!!!
If you want this pic, feel free to take it but please, please, please cut me out or blur my face, thanks, Martin, I’d like credit.
Mods, if you can, could you tastefuly edit my face out (blur maybe) abd replace it with the original, I’m not very comfortable with showing myself as of yet.

martini- that poster’s wicked! Oh how I wish I could see it in person… It looks like a 3-D model. Thanks for showing us.

Oh, and why would you want the mods to blur out your face? You are really cute!

Oh, thanks rachel.
It has nothing to do with vanity just I don’t like being out there on the internet if you know what I mean, my personal limit is MySpace.
Anyways, yes it was like a HUGE model, and I was like gasp!
UPDATE: Picture edited. now it’s fit for blogging, etc. (I’d still like credit)

Very cool cut out there! Bigger than lifesize! I’m a little surprised they have it out this early, but i’m not complaining. I wonder if my movie theaters have WALL-E displays yet. I havent been in one since October…

martini - Now there’s an extra large-sized poster if I’ve ever seen one. It’s pretty cool-looking, though! Thank you for showing us via a picture.

Here’s the final one-sheet poster, via Ain’t it cool news

“From the humans who brought you Finding Nemo”

:sunglasses:

It’s beautiful. <3 They’ve used the space scene to full effect. WALL•E’s body langauge looks like he’s saying, “I come in peace.” and EVE’s all like:

The poster confuses me, I mean WALL-E’s on Earth, (evidenced by all the trash) right, so what is that planet in the background, it doesn’t look like the moon? Maybe it’s just meant to be another perspective.

Just updating this thread with some posters… Click to enlarge each image.

The third one down is my personal favorite. :-D)
