I was quite happy that IMDB and the rest were broadcasting the release of Wall-E here as the 27th June, like everywhere else, after a 31st August release of Ratatouille last year. Then today I find out that the release has been delayed to the 28th August, no announcements or anything, just noted on IMDB and Yahoo. What gives?
I’ve searched around, and yes, it looks as though the release date for Singapore is definitely the 28th of August.
It might be that the websites in question initially didn’t have enough information to judge the release dates of Wall-E in different countries, so they just put the release date down as a general one. But now it’s officially known that some countries will be recieving Wall-E a little later, unfortunately.
I, for one, look forward to one day attending a world wide release of a Pixar film (if that ever happens, that is).
As lizardgirl implied, it IS quite normal to get a “late” release date for ANY movie (but not all) internationally. All you can do now is wait, and as some members suggested, don’t think about it for a while, but that is easier said than done…
Italy: 17th october
Four months later, with every Pixar… we and Japan are always the last ones…
How do you cope?
news, trailers, a lot of faith in Pixar magic, and a lot of hate for the italian division of Disney (you have no idea of how they treated the Disney Treasures series, or the dubbing of The Lion King in the DVD…)
