WALL•E Soundtrack

poooor Santaolalla… :sunglasses:

Listened to the sample. I deffinatly wanna get this, but I’m gonna wait till I have enough to buy the CD. I never buy music online. I like having hard copies.

Strange thing is, I can not seem to find the music played in the “Cities” trailer.

i think the soundtrack is really awesome, it’s all i’ve been listening to for the past week 8D

I just got the soundtrack, and I love it.
I can’t get Put On Your SUnday Clothes out of my head so I rented Hello Dolly :stuck_out_tongue:

Also, I really like First Date.

Are the Hello Dolly songs on the soundtrack?

I’ve never tried a Pixar soundtrack before WALL-E’s, but I have to state my greatest approval of the work put into it. The music was perfect, ranging from romantic-sad symphony to mysterious swing, but true genius all the way through! I assume their reason for not including full versions of “It Only Takes a Moment” and “Put On Your Sunday Clothes” is due to royalty issues. Still, I think that the soundtrack is fleshed-out and fulfilling without them.

My particular favorites are EVE and Define Dancing. Fixing WALL-E and Static are also excellent heartstring-tuggers. I was also particularly fond of Down to Earth, even though I’m usually not too into that kind of environmentalistic music; it sounds like some 70s hippie protest song, but makes up for it by just being downright awesome.

That begining song did sounded familar. It from the soundtrack from Hello Dolly.

I believe it called " Put on Your Sunday Clothes" and the other song " It only takes a moment".

I have the song “put on your sunday clothes” stuck in my head after I saw the movie. I thought the music from the movie was wonderful but i need to see the movie again if i decide to pick up the soundtrack.

I humbly suggest you pick up the soundtrack. It’s amazing

Besides, you should see WALL-E again regardless of whether you pick it up or not.

Yes, I especially liked the simplicity of the music box theme that Thomas Newman wrote for the “heartstring-tugging”. I bet if any other composer had been chosen to score WALL-E they would have written gushing over-sentimental music.

I liked the music itself, but the lyrics weren’t the greatest. What ever happened to being subtle?

Something I notice in film score that can be incredibly affective and wonderful is repetition of a song. I think it was used in one of the best ways in this movie…

The Song “All That Love’s About”… I think this plays both when WALL-E first meets EVE and when EVE is watching the security videos and realizing her feelings for him… Think about it. He falls in love, it plays. She falls in love, it plays. It’s ver subtle but beautiful representation.

Yes, in the production notes, Newman mentions his fondness for creating scores that combine a few primary bits into mixed-and-matched emotion rollercoasters. It’s really how a good score should be done; kind of like how Lord of the Rings has little bits of “primary songs” on its secondary songs, so that you can establish an emotional pattern. For instance, Fixing WALL-E and Static are close to the same song, allowing you to connect the sad feeling to the music.

For some reason, I shivered when I heard Put On Your Sunday Clothes in the theater :stuck_out_tongue:

Like, in a good way? It certainly is beautiful against those lovely space scenes.

Same here, it was the perfect juxstaposition.

I don’t know about anyone else, but does anyone love the track “Horizon 12.2”? I love it too much (hence my name ). It makes me feel mysterious and it gives me the chills.

It has the feeling of “There’s another world out there that is yet to be explored”, and I just love every part of it.

Other than that, I love the WALL-E soundtrack, Thomas Newman did an amazing job again, as he did on Nemo. Can’t wait to see if he does yet another Pixar soundtrack!

My personal favorite is “Eve” and “Define Dancing”
Maybe I’m just a sucker for the sweet and meaning. I totally agree that the stuff was heartstring tugging but not gushing. It felt so refreshing to hear that type of sound. It gives Eve a more feminine feel to her. More loving than she looks at first then strengthens it later on.

OHMYGOSHGUYS.

Now available for download purchase on Amazon.com and iTunes. And it’s like, 5 bucks.

Yes, I’m serious. AN OFFICIAL PAIRING SOUNDTRACK GUYS. AN OFFICIAL PAIRING SOUNDTRACK.

From the preview clips, it seems to be a mix of techno music and sweet romance songs. My only issue is like I said, available for download. At this time, it seems to be MP3 only. If anybody finds a place selling an actual CD, please let me know. I hate buying music online. I really do. Disney seems to be enjoying putting stuff I want in formats I hate lately.

Track list includes…

Wall-E and Eve-John Van Tongeren
Signs of Life-John Van Tongeren
Robot Love-Dave Palmer
Didn’t You See the Movie-Kari Kimmel
Clean Up Time-John Van Tongeren
I C-Marco Marinangeli
The Circuit Bent-Dave Palmer
Wall-E’s Dance-Marco Marinangeli

Netbug, I know how to get rid of the different formats if you want some help with that and cant wait for the CD copy :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll have to check this out. Looks like the Wall-E explosion has just started
