I’ll have to find myself a copy to look at. I’m still not sure if I totally want it, but I might. From what I’ve heard from the movie, I do like it. And just like little bits of the Cars soundtrack reminded me of Toy Story, little bits of this soundtrack remind me of Nemo. Must be like Thomas Newmanisms or something.
This soundtrack is pretty good, I like the writer of the music.
The OST or the pairing one? I’m trying to find out how good the album that netbug put up there.
Admittedly, the pairing CD is not incredible from what I’ve heard of it, but it has some swee numbers, and if it hits shelves I may pick it up.
It’s not formatting that’s my issue. Is 1. I like having the nice case and art and 2. I have a problem with paying for Data that can easily b lost. Simple as that.
I suppose. Sorry, I’ve go backups of backups…lol. But I suppose the art would be cute.
I was browsing eBay and this copy of the WALL•E soundtrack came up…
It’s from Argentina and yes, it’s a different cover. I don’t think it’s a fake, from what I can tell. Now this is the sort of cover I would have liked for the original release, even though the cardboard-ey cover is growing on me. Such a good-looking cover - love the spaceship in the background. Just thought you guys might be interested to see an alternate design and what could have been.
The cardboard packaging was a bold move, and I love it. It’s really rather beautiful imo. However, got it on iTunes before I noticed how nice it would be to have gotten the physical copy. If the CD was in a traditional jewel case I actually wouldn’t have minded. There’s something special about the cardboard
You know, after seeing the movie, I’m actually tempted to buy the soundtrack- and I NEVER by soundtracks. But it was all so eerie and just suited the movie so much, so it might be worth it.
‘Define Dancing’ by itself is worth the amount you pay.
I love this soundtrack so much. I dl’ed it to sample and when I loved every track I heard I went out and bought the physical copy. The cardboard was a stroke of genius and really helps set it apart. My favorite tracks are “EVE”, “Define Dancing”, and “Down to Earth”.
Oooh, interesting cover there for Argentina’s version… thanks, Rachel.
At first I didn’t care for the US cover, but I have to say, it’s beginning to grow on me (and I love the physical CD’s look, mostly all white…)
The album is basically worth it for “Define Dancing” “EVE” and “Down To Earth”
The rest of the songs are linked to the movie very well. But those songs…the utmost worth it
I bought it off Itunes, but I think it would have been nice to own a copy. The cardboard one looks interesting.
It’s routine for me to wake up every morning and listen to “Put on Your Sunday Clothes” and “Down to Earth” while brushing, putting on clothes, etc., now, lol.
lol i would listen to down to earth and look out my window in the rain… i love doing that i have my elderness planned out thats what im going to do is move to a rainy place and listen to piano sad music in my old dark wood house
I don’t know how I feel about “Down to Earth”. Thomas Newman’s accompaniment is good, but Peter Gabriel’s lyrics are just not really that subtle which makes it a bit corny and not as powerful.
anyone know where the chords for down to earth can be found (on the internet)
I bought this a week after I saw Wall-E the 27th. so, I’ve had it, erhm, since July 4th. Yes, that’s when bought it, I remember. And I’ve already listened to Put on your Sunday clothes 100 times, maybe 120 including Youtube. and most of the other songs are at 40 complete listens. Down to Earth is okay, it’s a good credits song, if you know what I mean. I’ve been listening to the whole thing through a few times a day. My favorites are…
Put on Your Sunday Clothes.
Foreign Containment (love the weird techno noises)
2815 A.D (learned it on piano)
La vie en Rose
All that loves about
And, of course, It Only Takes a Moment. I figure if I memorize the songs before I buy Wall-E, it’ll make watching it 700 times more enjoyable,

Lol. Like the techno side of music eh?
Personally, the soundtrack really is the movie. Almost like listening to the soundtrack to Phantom of the Opera. You could really listen to the movie
I just got the soundtrack today- LOVE 2815 A.D., as well as all the other ones others have mentioned.
A quick question- when I went to buy it today, I was surprised to see that the front cover didn’t really look like the cardboardy one I’d been expecting. The one I’ve got is white, but it still has WALL-E’s eyes on the front in that pop arty style. Have I got the full soundtrack? Is it the same as the brown one, just a different colour?
