WALL-E: Stanton's last fully animated film for 15+ years?

You guys know he is working on John Carter of Mars next. This is rumored to be a three-part series. If that’s the case, if you’re a big fan of his animated film work like I am, savor every minute of WALL-E - because it looks like the first John Carter of Mars movie will take at least 5 years to finish.

Granted, the 2nd and 3rd movies might not take as long to produce, but this is the worst case scenario.

I’m sure JCOM will be great with it in Stanton’s hands though.

I think that’s kinda cool! PIXAR makes a film almost like Tarsem’s “The Fall”

I thougt Andrew Stanton is only the screewriter, not producer or director…

No Stanton is directing. That is if he doesn’t give up and become one of the long list of directors who did. Mark Andrews is adapting the novels to screenplay.

Yeah, if I remember correctly, Andrew was confirmed as the director for John Carter of Mars in October of last year (2007). I believe, too, that Mark was confirmed as screenwriter for the film around the same time, but I could be wrong.

Uh, about WALL-E, [spoil]it’s not fully animated. There’s a little bit of live action in there. Very tiny bit, but there is. Still, I get your point. [/spoil]

Well, we all knew that, Netbug009, and you didn’t need to put spoiler gray over it.

“Mostly” animated then.

Well, we’ll definitely make the most of WALL-E then, but I suppose taking a long time to make a film can sort of only be a good thing, as when it is released, it’ll be completed and at its best. And we’ll all have something by Stanton to look forward to!

TS2: Just being on the safe side. I didn’t know that till recently.

I’m super excited for JCOM!
