Please pray for the American education system, that it can be improved to the point that schools stop poisoning students’ minds with garbage.
And that equal rights be used more fluentely. May schools shorten the times so that kids learn more. And may the different stances on religion and thoeries be restored.
Amen to that, A113 and Al-Bob!
Hannahmation: Thanks. I always thought there had to be some sort of similarity of God’s word and some part of the animal kingdom.
I pray for people who don’t have the kind of wealth that we do.
May we all know how blessed we are to posses riches.
God Bless You All
Wow, I think I have this thing with inspirational stories. 'Cause here comes another one! Hope you don’t mind…
I heard this from some aquaintances, and I thought it was somewhat cute. When I heard this story, it made me smile.
One day, a six year old girl was sitting in a classroom. The teacher was going to explain her reasoning against that there was a Creator. The teacher asked a little boy, “Tommy, do you see the tree outside?”
Tommy: Yes.
Teacher: Do you see the grass outside?
Tommy: Yes.
Teacher: Go outside and see if you can see the sky.
Tommy: Okay. goes out and returns a few minutes later Yes, I saw the sky.
Teacher: Did you also see God up there?
Tommy: No.
Teacher: That’s my point. We can’t see him because he isn’t there. Possibly he just doesn’t exist.
The little girl then asked the boy some questions.
Girl: Tommy, do you see the tree outside?
Tommy: Yes.
Girl:Do you see the grass outside?
Tommy: Yessss!
Girl:Did you see the sky outside?
Tommy:Yessss!
Girl: Do you see the teacher?
Tommy:Uh-huh.
Girl:Do you see her brain?
Tommy:No.
Girl:Then according to what we were taught in school today, she possibly might not even have one!
(You go, girl!)
FOR WE WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT’
II CORINTHIANS 5:7
I heard the same thing when i was young…great story!!!
really puts the what if in what if…or something like that.
I guess you can call me the inspirational story provider here. I’ve some more in my head, just waiting to be shared. I hope it doesn’t interrupt the purpose of this thread.
TRUE STORIES:
-Three poor, starving children (I think it was in China, but that doesn’t matter), without their parents, found enough rice to help them survive, even though their home was pretty much empty. They seemed to have run out of water, but they mysteriously had enough water to keep them from dying of thirst.
-My friend told me she was once in the middle of a dangerous hailstorm (or something similar to that). She and her family, in her home, prayed for it to stop. Not too long after, like in a few minutes or less, it stopped.
-A dangerous fire was spreading not-too-far from my home. Many of my classmates told me they had to evacuate from it. My dad warned my to be prepared because it seemed like we would have to evacuate soon. I prayed that it wouldn’t be too close to home that I would have to, too. I didn’t feel ready to leave behind the home I was so used to. Then, when the fire and its smoke died down, we were lucky enough not to have to evacuate. My prayers were answered.
I pray for people who have heard of God, but are hesistant and confused about whether to turn to Him or not.
Great Post BDD
a real encouraging story is always worth it…
An elephant died, and many other elephants gathered around its lifeless body. The other alive elephants seem to stay there peacefully, raising their trunks slightly, and closing their eyes, as if having a silent moment of prayer. (For real.)
I don’t know if they were really praying or not, and I know some people might think it’s silly to say that animals pray, too. But I don’t really find it that ridiculous. After all, who knows what goes on in their minds?
After school, I noticed an ant frantically making its way through the dangerous crowd of people which could have killed it any moment. I noticed that the ant was carrying something as it scampered. It was another ant, most likely dead. And the ant that was alive was carrying it with it, instead of just leaving the dead there and forgetting it.
Okay, I know it might be considered crazy to even mention ants as an example of compassion. But seeing this simple ant, helping another, even when the chances of them surviving are so low, it made me think. I never realized even bugs showed important traits and acts once in a while. How many people would see one hurt and help him/her through, just like this ant? Are you one of them?
(I am an animal lover, and I usually like to stop and stare at an animal, another one of God’s creatures, and ponder about how they live, and the unique things they do. After all, it says in the Bible that man (humans, more generally) were made to rule over the other creatures. It should be our responsibility to help the animals. In order to rule over the other creatures, one must learn about them, and more importantly, learn to care for them. )
I thank God for his creative, wild, and wonderful animals in this world, and how He has given them special gifts as well as to us. I pray that we can handle the responsibilities He has given us, to help take good care of his Creation. The biggest problem that is ruining quite a lot of it is pollution, and I strongly encourage everyone to pitch in to reduce pollution. Help restore the health of this world He gave us to live in.
Here comes another inspirational story! I got it from a video, but I forgot what it was called.
Once, there was a man who was just strolling down the beach. No one else was at the calm beach, or so he thought. He caught sight of a figure in the distance that seemed to be dancing back and forth. As he got closer, he realized that the person wasn’t dancing, but running from the sand to the waves, tossing something in each time he ran.
The man asked the child: “What are you doing?”
The young child answered, “I’m throwing starfish back into the sea. See, they are out, away from the water, and when the sun comes up and the tides go down, that means that they could die.”
The man shook his head and pointed out, “But look around you! There are hundreds, maybe thousands of starfish out here in this big beach. It’d be impossible to save them all; you can’t really make a difference.”
The young boy still proceeded taking a starfish and gently throwing it back into the ocean, where it belonged.
“I made a difference for that one,” he said.
Eventually, the man started to help the child throw the starfish back. So they made twice as much the difference.
Moral: (I think you can figure it out)
Very well done again
that story about the starfish is amazing…it really shows what Christians are meant to do in the world. Impact not everyone but just the ones that God wants you to impact.
I’m going to start posting little dities from Oswald Chambers’ book…My Utmost to his highest…
Here’s today’s “blog”…
In our natural live our ambitions change as we grow, but in a Christian life the goal is given at the very beginning, and the beggining and the end are exactly the same, namely, our lord himself. We start with Christ and we end with Him–“Till we all come…to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ…” [Ephesians 4;13], not simply to our own idea of what the Christian life should be. The goal of the missionary is to do God’s will, not to be usefull or to win the lost. A missionary is usefull and he does win the lost, but that is not his goal. His goal is to do the will of his Lord.
In our Lords life, Jerusalem was the place where he reached the culmination of his fathers will upon the cross, and unless we go there with Jesus we will have no friendship or fellowship with him. Nothing ever diverted our Lord on his way to Jerusalem. He never hurried through certain villages where he was persecuted, or lingered in others where he was blessed. Neither gratitude nor ingratitude turned our Lord even the slightest degree away from his purpose to go; “up to Jerusalem.”
"A disciple is not above his teaacher, nor a servant above his master, (Matthew 10;24). In other words, the same things that happened to our lord will happen to us on our way to our “Jerusalem.” There will be works of God exhibited through us, people will get blessed, and one or two will show gratitude while the rest will show total ingratitude, but nothing must divert us from going “up to our Jerusalem”.
“…There they crucified him…” [Luke 23;33]. Notice what happened when our lord reached Jerusalem, and that event is the doorway to our salvation. The saints, however, do not end in crucifiction; by the lords grace they end in glory. In the mean time our watchword should be summed up by each of us saying, “I too go up to Jerusalem.”
i’m also going to be posting encouraging verses of the day so stick in there.
Please pray for me, i’m going to make a speech about dinosaurs next week.
Oh, good luck A113.
This is a prayer thread, and you’re talking about luck? jk i know what you’re saying. thx
A boy died at my school this week named Conner. He was an eighth grader, and had gone to my elementary school too. I didn’t really know him, but it still kinda hurts. My friend said that she saw him crying in the hallway at me ES once. There is a rumor that he committed suicide because people made fun of him. It may not be true, because it is a rumor, but it still opens your eyes.
I pray that this boy finally found peace and that he doesn’t have any more pain.
Whoa, Rac_Rules, really? I’ve heard plenty of suicide and mysterious deaths, but in the same school? I pray that this boy Conner is in a better place, and that God has mercy on him if he really committed suicide. On the other hand, if the rumor is false, then I pray that all will be well soon, and that his family will endure this hardship.
Was he a Christian?
A113: That sounds pretty cool. I’m sure you’ll do great, may God guide you through if you ever forget a line or something. I wish I could hear it.
My prayer will include what it says in this song:
youtube.com/watch?v=MEEpavnk7Uw
I don’t know. I didn’t know him.
This is not the first time someone has died at the same school as me. At my elementary school, somehow an autistic (actually autistic, not as an insult. I hate it when people do that) 6th grader managed to not get on the bus without his parents noticing, and built a fort of some sort in his house. He fell asleep, and the blankets fell on him, and he suffocated in his sleep.
It’s scary how fragile the human life is. I pray that all who have lost loved ones, especially children, will find hope and support.
I pray for those who aren’t as lucky as us, making it hard for them to believe that God loves them and is watching over them.
In some other countries (I forgot which ones), people get punished for praying to God. I saw a nonfictional video of a girl from one of these kinds of countries, and the translation of her message told me that she shouted out to God one day, “If you exist, please show yourself to me now.” God did not appear in front of her, but she had a dream of a cross, and something else about God that I don’t remember.
Those kinds of situations make life more shorter when you look at it.
I will be praying for his family and for the kids he knew at the school. I’ll also be praying for you Rac-Rules…i haven’t actually expireienced a (fschoolmates) death before in my life. It must be really eye opening…
Here is a song i heard a week ago…it really sums up the Christian Religion.
What if you’re right?
And he was just another nice guy
What if you’re right?
What if it’s true?
They say the cross will only make a fool of you
And what if it’s true?
What if he takes his palace in history
With all the prophets and the kings
Who taught us love and came in peace
But then the story ends
What then?
But what if you’re wrong?
What if there’s more?
What if there’s hope you never dreamed of hoping for?
What if you jump?
And just close your eyes?
What if the arms that catch you, catch you by surprise?
What if He’s more than enough?
What if it’s love?
What if you dig, What if you dig
Way down deeper than your simple-minded friends
What if you dig?
What if you find
A thousand more unanswered questions inside
That’s all you find
What if you pick apart the logic
And begin to poke the holes
What if the crown of thorns is no more
Then folklore that must be told and retold
You’ve been running as fast as you can
You’ve been looking for a place you can land so long
But what if you’re wrong?
What if you jump?
And just close your eyes?
What if the arms that catch you, catch you by surprise?
What if He’s more than enough?
What if it’s love?
Please oh please pray for the public schools, that their eyes will be opened.
Pray that their eyes open up to what?
