Walt Disney Names Andrew Millstein, Jim Morris General Managers - Update
(RTTNews) - Walt Disney Co. (DIS: News ) Wednesday said it elevated animation executive Andrew Millstein as general manager for Walt Disney Animation Studios. The company also named special effects veteran Jim Morris on a parallel role as general manager for Pixar Animation Studios.
Burbank, California-based Walt Disney said both executives would be responsible for overall operations of their respective studios, and would continue to oversee all aspects of production related to animated features, short films and special animated projects.
Morris, most recently, produced ‘WALL-E’ for Pixar, and is involved in overall operations of Pixar studio. Morris joined Pixar Animation Studios in 2006 and had previously held numerous positions of increasing responsibility in various divisions of Lucasfilm Ltd. including Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) and Skywalker Sound. During his tenure, ILM created academy award-winning visual effects in “Jurassic Park,” “Death Becomes Her,” and “Forrest Gump.” Morris is currently President of the San Francisco Film Commission.
Millstein started his 11-year stint with Disney as a production executive in the Studio’s Motion Pictures Group. In 2001, Millstein was named senior vice president/general manager of production for Walt Disney Animation Florida, followed by a role as executive vice president for Disney’s Circle 7 Animation unit. Prior to joining Disney, he was head of production for Digital Domain in Venice, California, where he oversaw visual effect production on “Apollo 13,” “The Fifth Element,” “Dante’s Peak,” and “Titanic.”
DIS is currently trading at $32.93, up $0.50 or 1.54%, on a volume of 8.63 million shares.

Good for him…if he helped make Walle he should get a raise.
Good to see Disney is promoting good directors from PIxar.
He’s a producer Al , and yes, it’s good to see recognition like this. I’m happy taht Jim is incharge of all of Pixar’s productions running smoothly, because as far as I know, he did a great job at ILm and now at pixar.
