Well, with our 2nd Anniversary behind us I can safely say we’re a bigger deal than I ever imagined! We have over 870 members and an average of over 100 posts per member. This is huge by any forum standard and combined with the successes of Upcoming Pixar and Radio Pixar… well… words can’t express how amazing this all is to me.
Sadly though there are also growing pains. No longer can I have the personal relationship I used to have with every single member. Nor can I read through every single post that’s made. For that matter, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for the moderators to follow through as well.
For this reason I want to encourage every member to help Pixar Planet. If you have a problem, or need help with something, or see something on the board that could create an issue for you or others then please report it to our moderators. This can be done anonymously through private messaging or publicly with a post on the “Pixar Planet” forum. We’ll try to address it as soon as possible. If you have a major issue, please contact me or another member of the Brain Trust directly. And never be afraid to ask us; that’s what we’re here for. We’d rather know and not need to do anything than not know and let something important fall through the cracks.
Finally, we’re also doing our best to prune the forums and clean things up. So if stickies or announcements disappear, it probably means the information isn’t as important now as it was at first and you can find it mixed in with the regular posts. Remember, posts are never deleted here at Pixar Planet and all threads are preserved forever in the Archives so you can easily search for them forever. If a thread you were looking for has disappeared, check for it there. If you want to continue that discussion then please restart the thread in the appropriate forum for a fresh look at the subject; however, if you have a special reason to want to continue a thread or have a personal fanart, fanfiction, etc thread that has been moved to the archives that you want to revive, then contact a moderator with a link to the thread and the forum it should be returned to and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
I’m sure we’re only going to continue to grow and get better. I can only imagine the great things ahead and with all of us together I know it will be amazing! =D
I have been with this forum for two years. Still, I can not believe how fast this site how grown. Look at all that we have been through. I know it is tough for the mods, but you guys have been doing absolutely incredible these last two years. I really appreciate that.
I shall expect a forum “clean up” sometime soo. We could use it. In the mean time, All I can say is that I can’t wait to see what next year has in store for all of us. Carry on.
I log on to Pixar Planet, wanting some news on how Mitch is doing at her new job. My PM status is blinking. I open it, and see…an invitation to the Pixar Planet conference in Denver, at Pixar’s newest studio! A pop-up appears, and i click it, and it takes me to last week’s Pixar Planet TV. My fave shows are the Pixar Planet Documentaries, Rachel’s Toy Report, and Upcoming Pixar with bawpcwpn. Of course, i’m one of the last people who listen to Radio Pixar, but i still find it nice. Now it’s time for chatting! I turn on my microphone voice-to-text device, and start posting! Aww man, no Newt III? It was such a good movie. Oh well, i’ll have to read fanfics instead. Wait…fanfics! Let’s check my fanfic alerts…yippee! Netbug’s telling me she found 8 new WALL•E fanfics! Let’s check the member count at the bottom, the newest registered user is kid@, and we have a total of…only 3627‽ Don’t worry, A113, remember in 2008 when there were less than 100, and you still had plenty of fun? Yeah.
Great to hear from you again, Dash, and thanks for the update. This place is massive now, and the more Pixar fans, the better! I do look forward to seeing a bit of a tidy up happening, and good to know that nothing ever gets deleted. Our amazing conversations will be preserved forever!
It’s great to hear that this site is growing day by day and, despite the undeniable fact that more intimate conversations are now, sadly, a thing of the past, the prospect of this website becoming even more of an international hub that it is now is awesome, to say the least. I can see this thing turning into something of an online pub for Pixarians in the future…
I’m so happy that Pixar Planet has grown so much! I’ve been on for a year and a half, and it’s been really fun. Looking forward to the 32’nd anniversary of PP!
Congratulations on Pixar Planet expanding! This is very exciting and I’m looking forward to what new opportunities may be offered to us along with this expansion. I don’t plan on leaving this forum any time soon, so I look forward to many years with Pixar Planet and its amazing members and staff.
I’ll continue to let you guys know of any problems I come across, and it’s comforting to know that I can message The Brain Trust if I have an issue, since I had the idea that you guys were too busy to deal with stuff like that and sometimes I wouldn’t know what to do if I had a problem. But it’s ok now, and I’ll keep this in mind.
A113 - I loved that Pixar Planet prediction. That was really clever. Rachel’s Toy Report, yeah, I can see myself doing that. Heheh. And a “Pixar Planet conference” oh man, that would be AWESOME!
Pixfan: Wow! Cool! I wonder who was #100? TSS: LOL thanks. I’m a futurist, and i have those types of moments a little too often. Actually, it’s getting in the way of my schoolwork. XD WALL·E: You’re right. That would be amazing. Mitch: I know. You’re too awesome. Martin: Me too! Rachel: Really? Thanks. Yeah, that’d be totally awesome.
