We're under attack by killer bots!

Actually, I saw another

one yesturday morning. >.<

We’re

not completely free of them yet but it’s better and we have better monitoring now to. =)

Oh well, if

you need help I’m ready.

We’ve had a few bots recently,

but please don’t post in their threads.

Just a question, do you just delete their posts and the member as well? Or is it just the

posts?

Well, it all depends on the situation at

hand.

There are 2 types of bots. Some are harmless, but most are nogoodniks lookin’ for a swift kick in

the behind.

The nogoodniks are removed even if they don’t make any posts yet. Their usernames say it

all. :-\

The fates of the harmless bots are in Dash’s hands after I remove the

posts.

I’ve seen them some more recently, quite a sharp increase too.

Hmm, ditto. But they do get sorted out

very quickly.

Thank goodness most of those evil bots are getting a taste

of their own medicine! Of course, they would still be here if it wasn’t for that wonderful team of Pixar Planet

supervisors.

Thank you for keeping the boards clean, guys. Keep up the good work!

I think I’ve noticed that they if you look in

their profiles, they all seem to have ICQ, also. I haven’t checked, but I know that if you scroll over the

link, you can see the ICQ number in that gray bar… thingy at the bottom of the screen (in Internet Explorer),

and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if all the bots had the same number. I’d be surprised if they

[i:3w1oqwx8]didn’t[/i:3w1oqwx8] actually. So that could help us be 100% whether a user who hasn’t posted

yet is indeed a bot or not. :)

They also appear to have been born on the exact same day, March 28, 1983. LOL That,

and they’re all residents in the USA.

:unamused: Puh-leez!

And their ocupation and intrests are similar and are stuff practically none of us are

intrested in.

That’s what I said. I think

the person who’s registering maybe delebrately doing that, cuz think about it, who would be that stupid to put

the same info as they did with their old account(s)?

The question that really ponders my brain is this. If

it is the same person, why do they keep coming back? Why can’t they just leave us alone? It makes me mad to see

these bots just ruin one of the best Pixar fansites I have ever seen. I would rejoice, sing, dance, shout, and

thank God when this bot problem has been solved.

Maybe because they have a sad pathetic life & they are

seeking attention.

They remind

me of some of those annoying telemarketers, who when you tell them you don’t have time for them, they just call

back the next day. -_- XD

What an impolite way to seek attention. Have they no hearts? No brains? Surely

they must have read somewhere “only PG rated material.”

PV: I?ve

noticed that to.

Ehem – the bots are back:

I’m not exactly sure if the second submission qualifies as an

“attack” or not, but it is rather suspicious.

:unamused:

Well, their posts are gone now. But we still have

persistant bots. But I think moderation has been doing a good job so far.
