Because of You, Ne-Yo
Chase That Feeling - Hilltop Hoods (Instrumental)
The piano chords, the violins singing, and the melancholic crooning gives the song an almost hypnotic vibe that is entrancing and creepy at the same time. The version with lyrics ain’t bad either, the lines give you food for thought.
Sexy Love, Ne-Yo
Cartoon Jingle Intros. (I just finished with Darkwing Duck and Hey Arnold)
Kevin Rudolf - Let It Rock
I’ll Be Your Angel, Natasha Beddingfield.
My friend Paul Downs introduced me to this incredible/awful song, which may take the cake for “least effort ever put into a modern pop composition.” Why?
The Lyrics: Dazzling in their pure, unabashed awfulness, they are best enjoyed while imagining that they were stolen directly from a seven-year-old’s diary. Try to find a worse lyric than “I don’t want to see a ghost/it’s the sight that I fear most/I’d rather have a piece of toast/watch the evening news.”
The Chorus: Worn out from attempting coherent sentences, Des’ree is content to have the chorus be “Life, oh life, oh life, oh life, Do do do do.” Most songs at least attempt to say something about some aspect of life, but Des’ree bypasses that task by simply acknowledging that life is indeed a thing that exists.
The Bridge: Exhausted from including any words at all, Des’ree leaves the bridge to consist entirely of “do do do”s. It’s as if she’s laying down a scratch track that she intends to fill in later, but never will.
And yet I’ve listened to this song three times in a row, fully enjoying it.
