So, we’ve got a couple of months of freedom on our hands (well, some of us have!), so what are your plans for this summer? Anything exciting?
See, this is why I want to move to the U.S.A, you get longer holidays, it’s winter here in Australia, we get the long holidays during summer, in december, we get the long holidays, end of school, and Christmas!
But don’t you guys get like 3 months?
I think we get on holidays here on the 17th December then go back on the 1st Febuary.
It’s not that really long
But what I would do for summer, I would spend all the days that I have nothing to do going to the pool with my friends or go to the movies and my local shopping center.
Also, I would go to the Tim Borton Exabition in Melbourne, where the have all of Tim Bortons crazy costumes, frames and everything like that.
Ten many other things in the city .
We just moved, so I’ll be doing a lot of unpacking this summer. I have a part-time job, so hopefully I’ll be saving up lots of money too
Other than that, I’ll probably just hang out, go to movies with friends, all that jazz. We’ll probably go up to the family cottage a few times, but nothing special.
gleefan1, I can’t imagine having Christmas during the summer. Christmas without snow is no Christmas at all to me
Yea, we RARELY get snow, that’s because we’re from the land down under.
Christmas in summer is not bad, although I hate seeing my uncel wearing shorts (Shivers).
It’s nice going to the beach on Christmas eve, but, I ignore the heat and just be happy with Christmas.
Now, oI’m snuggled In my bed trying to keep coasy and warm.
That’s why I’m on pixar planet on my iPhone
also pratising my vocal singing for a compertion around by town .
I’m homeschooled and work year round. I’m doing fine in school, it’s still pretty boring. But we’ve got some family coming over, and I have a birthday in a few weeks, so summer’s not too boring.
I just got back home from camp, and after my legit B-day party, I only have Band Camp left
I’m working over the summer. I work as a camp counselor, I take care and play with kids. There are over 100 kids where I work.
In August, my family and I are gonna take a vacation trip to Idaho.
Well, I already did my big thing this summer, which was my trip to New Orleans, which was amazing! I spent 5 days being a camp consuler at a summer camp for African-American children who live in a poor part of New Orleans and experienced Hurricane Katrina. Then 3 days touring the city!
*Trying to get my Drivers License! I got my permit today
*County fair. I’m helping my sister show her sheep, and then the week after is when I show/sell my Steers. So lots of training and last minute preperations before I do it. My last year! It’s a week long event.
*Signing up for my college classes. I’m going to take English, Math, Agriculture Leadership, and Drawing/Compisition.
*Hanging out with high school friends before some of them head off to college. Tonight we actually had a movie night. We watched Princess and the Frog and had pizza (no parents home= partay!). Yesterday we took artsy pictures at the local cemetery.
*Going to the Pixar: 25 years of Animation Exibit in Oakland!!! My friends, sister, and I are going. We’re also going to stop at Fentons Creamery, and the entrence to Pixar. It’s worth just seeing the main gate, even if we can’t go in. Bonus, they’re all within 15 minutes of each other!
E-J-E, I envy you so much! (if you couldn’t already tell )
The gates of Pixar…WHOA And the Exhibit! I wonder if you’ll see You-Know-Who
As for my summer plans, they’re not as exciting as yours.

Seeing Toy Story 3 with a friend YAY! XD
My summer is actually pretty lame. For the first two weeks of summer (I got out the beginning of June), I had pneumonia. Then I had summer PE classes the rest of June. I’m volunteering at a local hospital every weekday this entire month of July, and then I have marching band practice every day in August until school starts again. I have tons of summer homework and I’m also preparing for both the SAT and ACT because I plan to take them this fall as a sophomore (I want to get them out of the way early.) So basically my only sources of entertainment is coming here to this site, and hanging out with friends whenever I have time on the weekends. Luckily I did go on a trip to New York for the 4th of July, which was pretty fun.
Honestly, I wouldn’t mind going back to school right now!
I’m sorry to hear that! I know what it’s like to be very very ill during summer. Last summer I had E-Coli! Not fun. But ti’s still the beginning of summer, there is still plenty of fun to look forward to!
gleefan1- Well, I’m not from the USA but I think our system in England is pretty similar, though our summer holidays tend to start a little later than our friends across the pond. From the impressions I’ve got on here, summer holidays in America are from June to August (though correct me if I’m wrong, anyone!) and I know that in England they’re usually from July to the middle of September. As a soon-to-be university student though, the holidays get even longer, starting from the end of June! Good stuff. But of course your holidays in the Land Down Under seem to be the exact reverse! That’s nice that you get a good chance to really celebrate Christmas, I feel like it’s always a little rushed here.
That’s cool that you’re a camp counsellor, TSS. So I guess you spend a lot time with those kids, doing activities and such?
Wow, hope you have a good time at the exhibition, ellie-jessie-eve! Do let us know what it’s like when you return! And the gates of Pixar…Eeep!
Sounds like you’ve got a busy summer on your hands there, Ding. I know how that feels! But I’d rather be very busy than have nothing to do at all, so it is a good thing in a way.
Like others here, my summer will be spent working and socialising, pretty much. I’m saving up as much money as possible for university, so though I don’t particularly enjoy working loads, it’s worth it. And I’m doing a bit of volunteering as well. Seeing Toy Story 3 will definitely be a highlight, as will going to a music festival at the end of summer. I’m also already buying stuff like pots and pans for university- I find all that home-making stuff very exciting.
Well, I’ll hang around with my best friend before she leaves again
Where is she going?
Germany.
I can’t believe that summer is over. It’s been a good one, I hope everyone else had a fun one too!
