What did Mater mean by “gettin cozy at the cone”?
I think he meant that Lightning was getting close to Sally, but that’s just my opinion. What does Mater man by, Ï’d give my left two lug nuts for something like that!"?
Lugnuts are probably like some car part that no one knows about and is intended to sound like… well you know, in the movie.
There is also a part where Lightning says “Doc won three Piston Cups”, and Mater says “he did what in his cup?!?”
Well, when a race car loves a Porsche… oh wait. This is a family board.
Lugnuts are the things holding the wheels on.
Yeah, “gettin’ cozy at the cone” is sorta a more, coughs inappropriate thing to say on this board . . . But it could also mean something less so, just getting close. But the way Mater says it, probably the former.
When Mater says, “I’d give my left two lugnuts for somethin’ like that!” he means he’d be willing to pretty much get rid of those parts. While yes, they are used in holding the wheels to the car, I think it was meant to sound like a name we use to somewhat-politely talk about a certain inappropriate body part.
And since it was brought up, the whole “He did what in his cup?” is because Mater wasn’t paying attention to “Doc won three Piston Cups!” and he thought Lightning said something else a little too inappropriate for these boards. I don’t know if that needed cleared up or not, but someone out there is probably confused by it . . .
Yeah, with all these suggestive references, I can see why people may not like Cars as much as other Pixar films.
They don’t bother me. It adds to the fun. Besides, Shrek is 246235135732554152 times worse I hate Shrek…
Well they’re not as bad as Shrek, that’s for sure.
Some of the Shrek jokes make me suicidal. On second thought, Shrek makes me suicidal. I think Buzz and Mr. Incredible should teach him some decency.
Wow guys, seriously? I would’ve thought there was a small chance Mater ment something else…
Flik-E:Other Pixar movies have some refrences too…
Because I’m innocent and don’t like to think bad things, I prefer to think that Mater just meant that they were getting close. The references don’t bother me. At least they don’t take it way too far like Shrek.
It’s all how you look at it. Sometimes people might just see something perverted about a line that probably Pixar wasn’t trying to imply. If I could listen to the Cars commentary on Blu-Ray on those lines it would be easier for me to know.
I wish the DVD had commentary. I can never feel complete I wasn’t arguing with you, Flik-E, I was just trying to get xCarsLuverx to be less upset, b/c you can take the jokes however you want. Sorry if I wasn’t clear or offended you. I’m getting really paranoid about not bothering people
It’s okay. I didn’t think you were arguing, so I wasn’t either.
I just feel like people take things I say the wrong way because they aren’t worded well, so I apoligize in advance.
Bunch of pansies. They wont last a second in middle school; where everyone swears and the kids second base in front of the entire class.
No you don’t have to aplogize for anything,it’s ok…
TheChickenMan:For once,I actually agree with you.And as said before other,Pixar movies and some Disney have refrences like that.
Another question what did Sally mean when she was snggling with Lightning and Flo said “Is that what I think it is?”(Seeing a pattern here? <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/grinandwink.gif” alt=“;-D” title="Grin and
Wink" /> )
I don’t think if I can remember if the commentary on the Cars blu-ray ever mentioned anything specifically about those lines. But it was so long ago when I watched the commentary (a little over half a year ago) that I’m not sure.
And xCarsLuverx, I think Sally was thinking that Flo thought they were in love. Actually, the way Sally was talking, it could be taken a little differently. You know, I never really gave much thought into that line myself.
I wish they put the commentary on the internet somewhere…
I’m missing out.
Yeah, there was a lot of… let’s just say a lot of jokes that little kids wouldn’t understand in Cars. Some of it made me cringe, but it’s nothing like you could hear in some other movies. Some of it is even funny, but I’m glad they didn’t take it too far.
This is one of the reasons that we took Cars and edited it a little so that my little siblings wouldn’t go around church and imitate some of those scenes. Imagine a five year old yelling inside of the church building, “I’m in hillbilly h–l!!”
So yeah. That would be an interesting situation. XD
