What directors would you like to see doing an animated film?

Have you ever seen a director’s work, and thought about the possibility of him/her directing an animated production?

I have, and I have a name for you: Quentin Tarantino.

I think this would be positively brilliant. I’m becoming a fan of his really fast; just bought Inglourious Basterds on Blu-ray. I’ve been wanting to own a copy ever since seeing it in the theater. It’s a brilliant film.

Next on my list is Pulp Fiction.

Anyway, back to business.

Is there a director that you’d like to see direct an animated film? Sound off here.

I liked the animated segment in Kill Bill Vol. 1, and I also would enjoy a full-length animated flick from QT. Also, I think a Tim Burton one would be interesting (a traditional one).

Christopher Nolan. I could see him doing some kickass work in the animation world.

Ditto. :stuck_out_tongue:

  • Sam Raimi (animated WarCraft!)
  • Mark Steven Johnson (really like Ghost Rider)
  • Peter Jackson (he said that he is interested in directing a sequel to the upcoming Tintin movie.)
  • Ang Lee (I think he is capable of directing anything) :unamused:

You took mine <____<

But, the other one I was going to suggest is Gary Marshall. Georgia Rule is pure genius.

I’m mainly thinking of his recent short, I’m Here, when I say this, but I think it would be cool to see Spike Jonze experiment with animation.

An animated Spike Jonze film would be interesting. We already know that he can pull off family films really well.

James Cameron. It would be interesting for him to do something different from Titanic and Avatar.

Maybe Avatar: The Animated Film.

Haha, I was about to write JC when I saw your post, gleefan1! At least it better not be Avatar: The Animated Series!

I’d like to see Guillermo del Toro direct an animated horror movie a la Coraline. And Michael Mann do an animated crime thriller! Maybe Peter Jackson or Neill Blomkamp do a fantasy epic? With animation, the sky’s the limit, I guess.

Spike Jonze and Guillermo del Toro are both very, very interesting choices. I vote for them as well.

I would like to see Jason Reitman write animated movie script. I know you said direct, but I can’t think of anybody. But I’ve always thought about how I think it would be cool to see a movie with Jason as the writer of the script.

Terry Gilliam. He always seems very limited by technology (and budget) constraints.

I agree on this one! That would be really interesting.
