They are very similar…With Ahhh! Real Monsters, I love
all of the characters, especially Oblina, and it has a real atmosphere, but I guess the same could be said of MI,
except to be honest, I’m not as keen on all of the characters. Both concepts work, but I couldn’t really choose
one over the other, mainly because Ahhh! Real Monsters was a series, so they had more time to go in depth into
how everything works, whilst with Monsters, Inc., we’re left with a lot of unanswered questions.
I used to like Real Monsters, but
after Monsters Inc. came out, I all of the sudden forgot about that old nickelodeon show.
There had been allot of
controversy between the two shows. That M.I. was inpsired by Ah Real Monsters.
The show morely shows the
training of monsters rather than the business of gathering screams.
Had to say the show has a rather
Invader Zim touch to it. Haven’t seen the show in ages but I have to say it had it’s interesting
moments.
Though I guess I’d still go with M.I.
I never saw Ahh
Real Monsters so i cant honestly compare, but I cant imagine I’d like that better than MI. Ahh Real Monsters
just didnt look interesting enough for me to watch…
Really? I thought each (IZ, ARM) had its own unique features, though not entirely
similiar. I had a preference for ARM before watching Monsters, Inc., and honestly, I wasn’t interested in seeing
MI at all because the idea didn’t strike me as too original, and therefore, hardly appealing. But, since
monsters have always been viewed as these odd, exotic creatures, the fact that the monsters from MI were so
similiar to our own species striked me as funny and an idea practically left untouched by everybody else. That’s
what I love about Pixar. I fell in love with the movie, and particularly with Randall (y’know, just in case I
haven’t pointed that out yet). :3
Ahhh!
Real monsters takes me back awhile
But yeah i used to watch it when I was a little kid and I enjoyed it!
When MI came out I made the connection between them. I enjoyed Ahh Real Monsters when I was younger and then when
I was a little older I liked Monsters Inc in the same way.
But thanks to awesome PIXAR animation I believe MI
was more enjoyable.
I wonder, what were the main characters in Ah
Real Monsters again?
Ickis-little reddish-purple paranoid critter with HUGE Gremlin-like ears-often
mistaken for a rabbit by humans, who thought he was cute
Krumm-fat stinky dude with no head-holds his eyeballs
in his hands
Oblina-looks like a black-and-white striped candy cane with Mick Jagger’s lips-talks with fake
British accent and can morph into any shape
Gromble-four-legged teacher/headmaster of the Monster
Academy-talks with British accent and has penchant for wearing women’s shoes
Snortch-huge monster with
enormous fangs, does not speak intelligibly-sort of Gromble’s right hand man…er, monster
Zimbo-giant bee
with one leg and a human-like face-always hangs out with Snortch, and is horrible snitch
Those are the
main ones, but there were many secondary characters.
