Obviously in TS2 there was one main story, with 2 parallels running throughout about 70% it, Woody’s part which is geing stolen, meeting the gang, hearing Jessie’s story w/ Emily etc. Buzz & the gang of course being the search and rescue mission, the toy barn, other Buzz etc.
So basically which one do you prefer, I prefer Buzz and the gang’s part.
I’m going to lean toward the “Buzz to the Rescue” side, just because I felt Buzz really came into his own here. He was mostly a joke (albeit a great one) in Toy Story, but TS2 was, for me, where he developed into a fuller character, and a very engaging one, at that. And getting to watch him deal with the “Delusional Buzz” was a hoot.
Buzz gans part, without a doubt , as karly05 said, here Buzz and the other toys had mora character development , also it has the coolest pixar character ever: The utility belt buzz!
The rescue party. That was what made the movie so awesome to me on the first place. Of course, it’s all perfect.
This is actually a tough question for me, due to the fact of loving each and every minute of this movie
but I have got to say that the Rescue Party was the more bright and interesting subplot of the movie. However, the Woody and the Roundup Gang part had a good amount of funny too, but it is the one that has more meaning to me when I watch the movie now, especially the Jessie and Emily parts.
The Woody part. I really liked that Buzz sort of had a personality in TS2 and didn’t annoy me, but the Al’s apartment line was more interesting for me.
I perfered the Woody half, and him learning of his backstory.
Tough question, but I’ll have to go with Woody’s story.
While I enjoyed Buzz’s story, it was slightly annoying to have a repeat of delusional “Space Ranger” Buzz from Toy Story 1. Then again, I also found this slightly annoying in Toy Story 3, although Pixar (to their credit) obviously don’t which is why we’ve seen a variation of the “delusional” Buzz in every film.
I did enjoy Rex’s sub-plot with defeating Zurg. But, that still doesn’t compare to my enjoyment of Woody’s story.
Buzz and the rest’s is very fun, but I’ll agree with most that Woody’s backstory was so intriguing to watch, especially for those of us who watched the original movie to death and were so excited to see how Toy Story 2 would continue it. It was done in a way that felt natural, like something that could’ve fit into the first movie. And the Roundup Gang is just great!
I think it’s easuer to follow Woody. I men, he’s just such a rich, full character. I love Buzz, but Woody feels more like a person somehow. And I loved TS2 mostly for Jessie when I was little, so that biases me.
Oooh…tough one. I think I’ll go with…Buzz’s side. I really liked Delusional Buzz (Strange, I like Delusional Buzz and Spanish Buzz better than the normal Buzz!) and just the whole adventure they had. But Woody’s side is awesome too, with the Roundup gang and with Jessie’s story and all.
I like both, but I guess Buzz’s half, it had a little bit more humor and some of my favorite scenes.
The Woody part. The last time i watched the movie i skipped the Buzz parts. I am not saying the Buzz parts are annoying, i just prefer to see Woody and Jessie.
…i know that Jessie x Buzz is canon. I KNOW ;___; runs while crying
I’m not to sure. I love the parts with Woody in Al’s apartment because I just love Woody and Bullseye and Jessie (I’m really not fond on Stinkey Pete) But I think the parts with Buzz and the other toys are more entertaining. But I don’t know there’s something I like more about Woody’s. So I’m going to go with Woody’s half. Even though normally I’d probably go with Buzz’s half x
That’s how I feel. The Buzz half is more light-hearted, but I prefer the Woody part. But I can see why everyone I know is wound up in Buzz, though, I guess.
Buzz part was more fun to watch, and I like it more because this is the time Andy’s toys began to work as a team. There wasn’t much teamwork in TS1 and was a lot in TS3, so this is where it started And they deliver the funniest lines in the movie. The phrase about 19 blocks more to go is one of my favourite quotes from Toy Story, I use it a lot
Besides, I didn’t like Prospector and Jessie for constantly mocking about Andy and forcing Woody to stay. Of course, I understand them, just didn’t like it.
I agree, and I like the underlying theme of Buzz trying to save Woody no matter what because of how hard Woody tried in the first one for Buzz.
